About Esporles

Esporles is a mountain village in the Tramontana in the west of Majorca. This charming village, with its stone-clad houses and winding lanes, retains much of its original charm and is well connected to the motorway and major service providers.

Esporles is often overlooked by tourists, perhaps because it is difficult to reach by public transport. Nevertheless, the village is very popular as a place to live in a steadily growing, international community, which adhere to the beautiful location and the good connection to Palma and other areas.

Esporles is also near the only University of the Balearic Islands and the Silicone Valley Mallorca, that as Parc bit and where Microsoft has a research center.

history & Culture

Esporles was founded by the invading Moors and later developed during the Christian reconquest in the 12th century. The village is often connected to the adjacent areas of Banyalbufar and valdemossa and is known for its agriculture and extensive oak forests.

Today it attracts many as mentioned international residents who appreciate the good connection.

The main attractions in Esporles

There is a large gothic church in Esporles and a small river, spanned by various small bridges, leads through the village.

The most famous attraction right at Esporles is the historical estate and museum La Granja, which is available to visitors and dates back to the Roman era, where it was valued for its natural water sources.

The village is a good base for those who do not mind driving a car, and out there both Palma as well as the many Mountain villages of the Tramuntana mountain range to explore.

What to do in Esporles

If you prefer the mountains to the sea, Esporles is a good place to enjoy nature walks and taste local produce.
