Back pain, headache, tinnitus, poor posture: Functional therapy can help!

Function therapy: Stability and balance in the causal system

If our system of teeth, muscles, jawbones and temporomandibular joints works smoothly, we have no complaints. However, functional disorders in this system (craniomandibular system) can manifest themselves in many different ways. In addition to the direct effects, such as TMJ problems, teeth grinding and teeth presses, the dysfunctions can also cause headache, neck and back pain.

With suitable functional diagnostic measures, we can recognize deviations in the causal system and then treat them. In individual cases, targeted functional therapeutic (pre-) treatments for a stable and balanced chewing ability are indispensable and medically necessary in a dental reconstruction. An individual splint therapy is usually the most effective and sensible solution.

As a dentist we work interdisciplinary with other specialists in functional therapy hand in hand. These include physiotherapists, osteopaths and pain therapists.

Avoidance of tooth migration, tooth tilting, teeth grinding and bite reduction

Elimination of functional complaints, for example problems with chewing

Remedy or relief of tinnitus

Elimination of orthopedic complaints and bad posture from head to toe

Interdisciplinary cooperation with specialists from the relevant specialist areas

The important role of every single tooth for your health

Each tooth in the bit ensures that the adjacent teeth are held in their ideal position. If there is a tooth gap, the neighboring tooth can sink into the gap. Neighboring teeth can also move in the direction of the gap to fill them. This changes the pressure on the jawbone and musculature. In addition, the tooth migration often results in a drop in the bite, which also leads to an incorrect loading of the jaw. This may result in functional discomfort in the entire dental and musculoskeletal system (neck, neck and back problems). Through a holistic treatment we can counteract this.

The tinnitus dies down – by a functional therapy

Tinnitus aurium means “the ringing of the ears” – the term for an acoustic perception for which there is no external sound source. Tinnitus is a symptom that indicates a disorder. The disorder can be in the tooth and jaw area, because the middle ear is in close connection to the temporomandibular joint. Missing or impaired teeth can lead to a malposition between the lower jaw and the upper jaw. This affects the surrounding blood vessels and nerves – they are under heavy pressure, which can cause tinnitus. In many cases, tinnitus can also be cured or significantly alleviated by targeted functional therapy.
