The small island Pellworm from the air

Since 1998 Pellworm is a recognized North Sea spa and is surrounded by a 8 m high and 25 km long sea dike. Tourism is the second largest economic factor after agriculture on this rural and still quite primitive island. In summer, Pellworm can be reached by ferry from the Strucklandungshörn ferry pier on North Beach about every 2 hours. The car can be taken, but it is advisable to explore the island by bike. Since Pellworm has no sandy beach, the tourist rush and prices are still limited. There are 10 swimming spots on the water side of the green dike edge. Here you can sunbathe, swim or simply enjoy the view of the Wadden Sea in the beach chair.

Worth seeing is also the old one lighthouse from 1906, which can be visited and today holds up to 140 weddings a year. In addition, there is still one Solar and wind power plant on Pellworm. It was built in 1983 and gradually expanded. Also Pellworm has one Vogelkoje. It is located in the northwest of the island and is one Nature reserve. Pellworm is generally a forest poorer island. Beach without sand

Fine-grained sand that gently tickles your feet? On Pellworm nil, because the beaches of the North Frisian island are green. Means: the bathing experience always takes place here on the dike.
