Resolutions, recommendations, agreements

The "Resolutions Recommendations agreements" BDA and DGAI have been providing a reliable orientation in the daily routine of anesthesiologists for 28 years. The present fifth edition of this document contains a wealth of new or updated directives that have been adopted since the publication of the fourth edition in January 2006. This concerns both medical and professional policy questions, to which answers had to be found and – partly in close collaboration with our partners in the clinic and practice – were also developed.

The thorough revision of this fifth edition began in 2007. Over the next three years, a number of recommendations, such as analgesic sedation or preoperative evaluation, have been thoroughly revised, adapted, and in part completely reformulated due to numerous changes in legal and medical conditions. New agreements with other disciplines, e.g. to intensive care, were added.

In the 50th year of the BDA’s existence, this new edition impressively documents the careful as well as the lasting, i. future-proof work of the founders and first editors of this font, Wolfgang Opderbecke and Walther Weißauer, and their numerous companions and successors inside and outside the bodies of the BDA and the DGAI. All contributors should be expressly thanked.

In the structure of this updated collection of professional and association policy documents, the following changes have been made to the fourth edition: The agreements with other specialist areas can now be found in the individual chapters in order to provide the reader with a complete overview of the statements on individual subject areas to enable. The chapter "Agreements with other subject areas" however, it was left in the original, chronological form in the table of contents in order to document coherently which questions were even concluded with interdisciplinary agreements.

Like a preamble is the "Declaration of Helsinki on patient safety in anesthesiology" preceded by the texts (online at: Declaration of Helsinki on Patient Safety in Anaesthesiology – Homepage Patient Safety AINS).

The rendition of the meanwhile increasingly extensive field-specific guidelines has been waived. These can furthermore be viewed and called up at any time via the homepage of the DGAI and via the guideline page of the AWMF (www.awmf.org or http://leitlinien.net/). We will continue to make future resolutions, recommendations and agreements as well as their updates in our journal "Anesthesiology & intensive Care" publish it and make it accessible on the internet. We hope that this fifth, completely revised edition of the quality assurance in the field of smooth cooperation with our partners as well as in your daily work in the operating room and in the intensive care unit, in the ambulance service or in the pain treatment for the benefit of the entrusting patients, a reliable guide.
