First visit
The first appointment is purely an acquaintance appointment. In the first appointment we will usually “only” count the teeth. In this way your child will have confidence in us.
Preparation at home
You can prepare your child at home. You will help us to give your child a positive attitude. You can do many things with your mouth: laugh, talk, eat and kiss. Make your child aware that it is quite normal to deal with the mouth.
You will help your child a lot by only expressing yourself positively about your visit to the dentist.
In practice
Don’t be surprised! We will ask you to be in the practice 10-15 minutes before the appointment, so that your child can arrive in peace and can still play and romp a little. Despite all your preparations, a visit to the Luisen children’s dentist is a new and unusual situation. Be patient with your child, let your child answer and let us guide you.
In the treatment room
Our attention is fully focused on your child. We ask that you let your child finish. It is also helpful for the treatment if you let us take the lead in the room and only interact with your child again after the end of the treatment. We will not be able to answer your questions until the end of the session.
desensitization
Desensitization is a trial treatment. Its aim is to explain and initiate dental treatment suitable for children. We will inform you at the first appointment whether desensitisation is necessary.
baby consultation
Especially for small children between 0 and 2 years we offer an extra consultation hour. You will get tips for the suitable pacifier, oral hygiene from the first tooth and nutrition for your baby. Call us and make an appointment in our baby consultation hour.
Treatment
Extensive consultation and treatment plans specially tailored to each individual small patient.
treatment methods
We can let individual teeth fall asleep, calm their child with laughing gas or carry out a treatment in deep sleep (anaesthesia). You and your paediatric dentist will decide which treatment method is the right one during your first appointment to get to know each other.
glitter teeth, fissure sealing, dentures
We offer high-quality restorations for milk teeth. These include children’s crowns in all variations, fillings or prophylactic services of all kinds. Of course, you always have the choice between a basic treatment and a higher quality treatment.
Regular provision
A half-yearly dental check-up is recommended. It is immediately noticeable if a house in the Milchzahnstraße is wobbling or a caries devil has rented somewhere. We will be happy to remind you of your next appointment by e-mail, if you wish.
orthodontics
Many children and especially their parents wonder whether braces are necessary or not. With early orthodontic treatment at primary school age, when the first permanent teeth appear, it is possible to positively influence jaw and tooth misalignments, so that in adolescence a lengthy and more complex treatment can often be avoided. Therefore we have everything a child’s heart desires, braces in rainbow colours, in all favourite colours, whether in neon or with glitter fairy dust, up to the favourite football club emblem and sparkling stars.
prophylaxis
Oral hygiene is the foundation for healthy teeth. To support you and your child, we offer you a tooth brushing school, professional tooth cleaning and nutrition and oral hygiene advice.
