The 580 hectare mixed forest of pine, spruce, beech and oak not only offers relaxation for the lungs and nerves, but also awaits you with everything a beautiful day in nature needs: deer, deer, wild boar and owls, the Schnaakenmoor with frogs, Dragonflies and adder. The Pony-Waldschänke, where families with children can borrow a pony for a ride through the forest and a forest playground where the offspring can let off steam until they are completely exhausted (aka rest for the parents).

The nice thing about this dog run is that there is a large meadow for romping, but there are also real walking paths – albeit rather small ones. A circular route leads through a grove, the dogs can balance on a tree trunk and there is a lot to discover. Due to the complete fencing, dogs can also run free on the Höltigbaum, who occasionally switch off their hearing.

Those who spontaneously feel like nature after the weekend shopping tour can stroll through the Alster Valley. The green paradise borders directly on the Alster shopping center and is easy to reach by S-Bahn (station Poppenbüttel). Behind the shopping center it goes on the Poppenbüttler Landstraße into the Alstertal on the Alsterwanderweg. In the middle of the green you walk along the water and walk past dreamlike houses. The meadow landscape is reminiscent of the backdrop "Lord of the rings" – Frodo, where are you? The path leads again and again over the Alster and past wonderful cafés.

Begin: Poppenbüttler Landstrasse
How long do you run?? 40 minutes
Perfect for: Dog owners, Sunday strollers.

The Altes Land is actually worth a visit in every season. It is particularly worthwhile now, however, for the apple harvest: the trees are bursting with red and yellow fruits, the fresh breeze blows your head free and a piece of apple pie in the café of the fruit paradise Schuback is like heaven on earth.

Roam the narrow, pretty and idyllic alleys and half-timbered houses of the old town and buy all kinds of colorful sweets in one of the numerous shops – that’s Lüneburg. It is not for nothing that the bomb manufactory stands here, which you can visit with pleasure. If the north German weather does its best to rain your day, the SolLad SaLü offers an inexpensive and relaxing alternative. The best thing about it: By car, you took a relaxed 50-minute turn over the A39 and in the heart of the town. You can plan the whole trip perfectly in our home leave text.

Goodbye to sensory overload – short vacation in Sierksdorf

Weekends by the sea go faster than in the Hanseatic city, that’s for sure. There is not much to explore in Sierksdorf, but sometimes the sea is enough. And there is here including the amusement park "Hansa Park", which you should definitely pay a day visit to when visiting the retro resort of Sierksdorf. You can be there in less than an hour by car – so it’s also good for a day trip!

You want to go to the sea. Right. With a huge sandy beach, long walks, mudflats, wind, tide and vitamin sea. Nothing like going to St. Peter-Ording. Because Schleswig-Holstein’s largest health resort has plenty of it all. Plus a lot of other tourists, but there is always something. The easiest way is the tour with the four-wheeler – then you should have arrived after 1.5 – 2 hours. Kite, buggy riding, kite flying, walking along the 12 km long beach, feeding, drinking – St-Peter-Ording (connoisseurs say SPO) has everything and in summer even surfers and nudists. Hot!
