Flights Ayers Rock: options, tips, comparison & great offers

Ayers Rock Airport (also: Connellan Airport) was founded by the Australian entrepreneur Edward Connellan in the 1950s. With the increasing number of tourists in the 1970s, all tourist facilities in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park were consolidated in the town of Yulara. The airport, about five kilometers away, became increasingly established as flights to Ayers Rock became more popular. Yulara offers accommodation, tourist infrastructure, and tours to Ayers Rock and the neighboring Olgas.

Ayers Rock Airport makes it possible to visit Australia's landmark without having to make a six-hour drive from Alice Springs, or about 2.000 kilometers from Darwin. With its connections to Melbourne, Sydney and Cairns, visitors to the east coast can also quickly reach the red mountains in the center of the continent.
