Carinthia’s lakes offer numerous trend sports for a beach holiday or adventure holiday on the water. A round of water skiing or wakeboarding, but also a ride on a tire, a banana or parachute flights can quickly raise the adrenaline level. The speed is not so high for stand up paddling or a boat trip, but parents and children can explore the lake and its shores together. The light white water of the Möll is ideal for a rafting tour with children from the age of 4. Funny games, white water swimming and bridge jumping make rafting an experience and adventure with the children. Canyoning with a fast ride over water slides is possible for children from 6 years. As with rafting, well-trained, certified guides show what to look out for in whitewater. Carinthia’s largest river, the Drau is ideal for leisurely trips by canoe or kayak.
The river section between Oberdrauburg and Spittal is free of obstacles and the water flow rate is between 10 and 15 km / h. On these stages of the Drau paddle hiking trail you can paddle with the Canadians and kayaks, or let yourself drift silently, and enjoy the untouched nature from a completely new perspective. Catch the very first fish on an adventure holiday with children, there are plenty of opportunities. Afterwards, the little ones can have the freshly caught trout from the hotel’s own fish pond prepared in the restaurant. With the fascinating method of fly fishing you make the big catch on the Gail according to the catch and release principle. At the Gail river you will find one of the most natural river landscapes in the entire Alpine region. Here you can find brown trout, grayling and rainbow trout, eel rods, brown lamprey and koppen.
