Our programs and actions for a healthier everyday life:

AOK Children’s Theater Henrietta & Co.

Curtain up for strong kids! Since 2007, the AOK has been touring Germany with children’s plays about Henrietta and her friends every summer. Together with the bright girl, visitors at primary school experience adventures in which they learn a lot about themselves.

How do I really let off steam in the classroom? Which food is not only okay for adults, but also tastes good to me? How do I appear more confident? Henrietta Children’s Theater brings up questions like this & Co. onto the stage and shows the little ones: You are not alone with your worries. The children are introduced to the important issues of healthy eating, exercise and mental health in a very playful way.

Daycare program JolinchenKids

Early practice: Many behavioral patterns are shaped in childhood. That is why AOK NORDWEST wants to inspire even the youngest for a healthy lifestyle with "JolinchenKids – Fit and healthy in daycare". The dragon child Jolinchen helps. It is happy, tries a lot and likes to eat fully. Jolinchen takes children, parents and educators with them to the “healthy and delicious country”, to the “fitness jungle” and to the island “feel good”.

With a lot of imagination, children up to the age of six are taught the fun of balanced nutrition and exercise. There are materials and program content for the educators of the daycare centers that can be used to implement health promotion in daycare and at home.

Felix Fit exercise program

With this offer we want to bring verve into the everyday life of preschool and elementary school children. The holistic prevention concept “Join Felix Fit – Moving Children” was specially developed by AOK NORDWEST in cooperation with the Asklepios Weserbergland Clinic in Höxter.

Skipping rope instead of smartphone, dancing instead of tablet: Felix Fit counteracts the widespread lack of exercise among children today. With playful forms of movement, children learn that being active is anything but boring. The program also improves children’s coordination skills and body awareness.

AOK family studies

If you want to make everyday life easier for families, you need to know: Where is the pressure of parents and children? That is why the AOK has been carrying out regular family health studies since 2007. The last AOK family study from 2014 showed how family and work can be reconciled. She confirmed the assumption that many parents find their everyday life stressful. At the same time, the study showed that the more satisfied parents are despite their strenuous role, the healthier their children are, which is also reflected in better school grades.

An important part of the AOK family studies are the recommendations on how families can live better and healthier lives in everyday life. Our family experts derive practical tips from the scientific studies. The AOK has already started the next family study in 2017/2018.
