The AWO Heimverbund Jerichow is an institution of the AWO fair.leben Integrations- und Heimbetriebe GmbH. As a facility for integration support, we accompany and support people with disabilities to develop their personality and to discover new perspectives and the opportunity for an equal place in our society. The focus is not on the respective restrictions, but always on the skills and abilities of the individual.

Care offers and daily support

We look after and accompany people with disabilities in three separate houses. The basic idea of integration assistance is to offer everyone the help and support they need to help them determine their everyday lives shape. With our support, therapeutic support and care, we encourage residents to achieve the greatest possible independence in the areas of living, employment and leisure activities. Our range of services includes:

Housing offers for people with intellectual and multiple disabilities including housing offers for closed and protected accommodation according to § 1906 BGB
Housing offers for people with mental disabilities
Daily promotional offers inside and outside the various living groups

The range of services relates to the areas of life:

Housing, work and employment as well as practical instructions
special psychosocial offers as well as nursing aids
Education and leisure activities

The different forms of living and day-promoting offers are designed so that the residents "a life as self-determined as possible being able to lead". The focus is on people with their needs, wishes, interests and skills. The facilities are financed by the Social Agency Saxony-Anhalt (integration assistance).

The location

The dormitory is located in the small town of Jerichow in the Jerichower district country, known for its 850 year old monastery. Surrounded by forests, it is located in a park-like facility adjacent to the AWO Jerichow Specialist Hospital and in close proximity to an AWO outpatient care service.

There is a good infrastructure with shops, doctors, pharmacies and churches. Jerichow is located on the federal highway 107, a few kilometers away from the cities of Genthin, Tangermünde and Stendal, which can be reached via bus connections.
