When will it happen??
When the first teeth break through varies from child to child. But the first incisor shows up between the fourth and eighth month. This is followed by one tooth after another until the teething is over at about 24 months and the milk teeth are complete with their 20 teeth. Who wants to know exactly: the first bit consists of eight incisors, four canines and eight molars.
While teething is noticeable in some children, you hardly notice anything in others. Because the thing with the first teeth is really very different from child to child.
Everything wants in your mouth!
But how do you know if your baby is currently teething? A unique sign is, if children suddenly put all kinds of objects in your mouth to relieve the itching sensation they are experiencing. Other possible signs include rubbing your ears, waking up more often at night, general restlessness and irritation, less thirst or loss of appetite, slightly increased temperature or red cheeks.
Symptoms such as diarrhea, fever, coughing or vomiting have nothing to do with teething. This can be explained with a virus that occurs simultaneously. In any case, a doctor should be consulted.
Relieving pain needs to be learned

Mandible
As already mentioned, babies love to put objects in their mouths during the teething phase, ideal is of course a special biting tool, which you should keep in the fridge (not in the freezer!). The MAM Cooler, for example, allows babies to quickly forget teething thanks to its integrated cooling function. Alternatively, you can simply offer your baby a chilled, peeled carrot. The motto here is: the main thing is chilled!

If you are generally fond of homeopathy or would like to try it out, you will also find various globules for your baby to relieve the strain. There are different types depending on the type of toothache. A very pain-sensitive baby needs a different composition than a baby in which teething begins late in development. It is best to always seek professional advice.
tooth gel
If that doesn’t help, there are tooth gels that contain a light local anesthetic. You apply it directly to the sore spot and so numb the pain for about an hour. If your child is completely upset due to the teething pain, you can give him a fever suppository after consulting the doctor.
spoon
To temporarily relieve the pain of your little sweetheart, you can lightly brush over the non-inflamed (!) Areas with a small spoon. Because a spoon from the cutlery drawer also has a cooling and pleasant effect.
Amber Necklace
And what about the much-quoted amber necklaces? After their effects have not been proven, the motto is: Try out over study.
