You might think we only eat cake and cake. But I can reassure you: it’s not like that. Even though we have published an above-average number of cake and cake recipes in the past few weeks, I still want to share them with you today enrollment cake of the lavender boy. Since the lavender boy wanted a chocolate cake at school, I chose one Chocolate strawberry cake for school decided. The school cake was shaped like a school bag to match the day. I have many in advance thoughts made how I can easily design the school bag cake. So far I have only baked a few motif cakes and have rarely worked with fondant. I was aware: Modeling figures out of fondant is time-consuming and, for me, cross-competence. A simple school cake, The goal was to make something that tastes good, and above all.
I would have preferred to do without the fondant for the school bag cake recipe, but with chocolate or butter cream you simply have fewer options when it comes to cake design. So it ended up being one School bag cake with fondant, which consists of a juicy chocolate cake and a strawberry butter cream.
Although the school cake is really powerful, I am particularly pleased that it was very stable when cut and looked good on the plate. One more thing in advance: You should plan enough time for the cake for schooling. It is definitely four to five hours.
School bag: recipe with step by step instructions
For the dough:
- 6 eggs
- 250 g of sugar
- 2 packets of vanilla sugar
- 250 ml vegetable oil
- 300 ml milk
- 25 g baking powder
- 75 g cocoa powder
- 350 g of flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
For the filling:
- 6 egg whites
- 350 g of sugar
- 500 g butter
- 350 g frozen strawberries
- 400 g fresh strawberries
- Fondant in your favorite colors
As the basis for the school cone cake, you first prepare the dough for the chocolate cake. For this you whip the eggs with the sugar and the vanilla sugar until frothy. Then add the oil and milk and stir everything smoothly. Now add the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt. Mix everything with a mixer to a smooth dough. You then distribute the dough as evenly as possible on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake the cake for 25 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 degrees top and bottom heat.
Before you continue working on your cake for school, it is important that the chocolate cake has cooled properly. Provide a large board for your wrapping cake. Then you cut the school bag out of the chocolate sheet cake. I did it this way: I first cut two large, elongated triangles as school bag bodies and then cut two smaller triangles each. One of the smaller triangles must be as wide on the longest side as the be the short side of the big triangle so you can put it together. Unfortunately I did not take a photo of this step. But I think you can guess it from the photos of the finished cake.
Now place the large, elongated cake triangle on the board and place the other triangle on it. The last cake triangle is with the Tip down to the top of the other little triangle. Now the first layer of your school cake is ready.
Swiss Meringue Buttercream recipe and preparation
Now it’s the turn of the cake filling. To do this, thaw the frozen strawberries in the microwave. Then separate the eggs and beat them in a large mixing bowl over a water bath with the sugar with a whisk until the mass is warm and the sugar has completely dissolved. Let the sugar protein mass whip up from your cake machine at high speed with a whisk for about ten minutes, so that a solid mass forms. Then add the soft butter in spoons. To do this, reduce the speed of your food processor to a slow to medium level. Now puree the thawed strawberries and gradually add them to the Swiss Meringue Buttercream with stirring. At the very end you carefully lift the quartered fresh strawberries under the butter cream.
The finished strawberry butter cream is now evenly distributed on your first layer of cakes. Then place the parts of the second layer of cake on the butter cream with strawberries as in the first step. If you have the time and your fridge is big enough, cool the cake for half an hour. Then the school bag cake is decorated. To do this, roll out the fondant in the desired shape according to the package instructions and carefully place it over the cake. Then decorate the school bag cake with smarties.
