Holidays in the Odenwald – Holidays from day one

The Odenwald region is located in three federal states, roughly within the borders: Mosbach, Heidelberg, Mannheim, Heppenheim, Darmstadt and the Main – Wörth and Buchen along. This cozy low mountain range in southern Germany is ideal for an extensive hiking holiday. Wonderful views follow gentle ascents here. But the cultural treasures of the Odenwald are also worth a visit. From your apartment you can take tours to the Castles in Heidelberg, Schwetzingen or Auerbach Castle near Bensheim Companies. The big cities like Heidelberg or Darmstadt invite you to stroll and offer numerous, very good museums such as the Hessian State Museum. Of course, this area is also shaped by winegrowing – extensive wine tasting is always an event. Or you can rent a bike (e-bikes are also available) at the Tourist Information in Mosbach and cycle about 30 km on the "Hiking railway line" – an old railway line – between Mosbach and Muldau. The nature on the route is varied. Here shows the Odenwald from its most beautiful side.

But if you prefer to get to know the Odenwald on foot, the Alemanni trail (138km circular walk, about seven daily stages). This takes you south of Dieburg and north of Bensheim and Michelstadt through a wonderful natural and cultural landscape. Or you hike on the trail of the Nibelungen Nibelungensteig (130km hiking trail, about six-seven stages) from Zwingenberg to Freudenberg. Hikes with luggage transfer are also offered.
