Do you want whiter, more natural teeth? Teeth whitening is also possible with you.

Teeth whitening is a safe procedure.

Causes of tooth discoloration

The reasons for discoloration of the teeth are very different. If these are not due to old fillings or root canal treatments, it is usually natural ageing processes that make the enamel more porous. The yellowish dentin underneath becomes more visible and the teeth get an unattractive veil.

But also external factors like the consumption of tea, coffee, cola, red wine and nicotine can strongly influence the colour of your teeth. Taking certain medications can also stain your teeth.

Then there are the congenital factors such as enamel formation disorders or the administration of antibiotics during pregnancy.

Here, too, bleaching in Munich can help to make teeth brighter again.

Through a thorough examination, we can determine the exact cause of your tooth discoloration. This should be done by an expert so that you really get an effective, harmless and lasting result.

We are specialized in aesthetic dentistry and give you the right recommendation.

The professional medical tooth bleaching in the practice clinic creative dentists

Teeth whitening = bleaching is a mature process and has been used successfully in our practice for many years. The application by our dentists enables the use of effective and effective methods. Our method uses a light-activated system based in the USA. We always do the planning and assessment ourselves.

The application by your dentist in Munich allows the use of higher concentrated gels than is possible with a whitening at home. The result is correspondingly more intensive and long-lasting. An appointment of one hour under the supervision of our doctors is often sufficient.

Clinical studies have proven the effectiveness of our method and its sustainability. Even after 30 days the teeth are 41% brighter than after teeth whitening without light-assisted technology. With careful dental care and following our dietary instructions, the result lasts 1 to 3 years. Much longer than with the so-called home bleaching methods – procedures that the patient carries out at home.

How does bleaching = tooth whitening work?

Bleaching of teeth is done in our dental practice with antioxidant and photon energy support.

The whitening gel reacts specifically to the wavelength of the special bleaching lamp. This light is like sunlight, but contains only a certain bandwidth of spectral waves. This is why the patient wears special glasses during the bleaching process. The cold blue-green colour spectrum is completely harmless for the gums, lips and skin, but ensures a more effective activation of the bleaching agent.

Through the application of this light-assisted method, this patented procedure of the creative dentists Munich is effective and ensures a long-lasting bleaching result of up to 5 years.

Is bleaching harmful for the teeth? Risks of bleaching?

Before the bleaching agent is applied, the gums are covered with a special light-curing rubber-like material. This allows the active oxygen to remove the colour pigments from your teeth without damaging the surrounding gums. To protect your eyes, wear special protective glasses during the entire light-activated process.

When internally bleaching the teeth (see also bleaching of root-treated “dead” teeth), a protective layer for the root canal filling must be maintained. This is achieved with a special cement which is removed after the bleaching process. The prerequisite is a correctly performed root canal treatment, i.e. dense root filling. If necessary, this can be achieved with a new root treatment.

Correctly performed bleaching is not harmful to the teeth if the right material is used!

What to do with dark teeth after root canal treatment?

Older leaking or incorrectly placed root fillings can lead to lasting discoloration of the teeth. These teeth can also be whitened by bleaching so that they no longer differ from the untreated neighboring teeth. An internal bleaching process is used for this purpose. The tooth is opened at the former access point and the bleaching agent (a different agent than for external bleaching) is applied. The root canal should be sealed first.

If the root canal filling is leaking or not optimally sealed, a renewal of the root treatment should be considered. Therefore, diagnosis before bleaching is important. In this case, the tooth will not be damaged by internal bleaching. After the bleaching process, which often takes place in two to three sessions over a period of one to two weeks, the tooth is closed tightly again. In addition, the result can also be combined with external bleaching.

Is the bleaching of teeth a painful procedure?

The bleaching of teeth is, if used correctly, a procedure that is gentle on the teeth and painless for the patient. Sensitive teeth can seldom be easily pulled. If the teeth are basically very sensitive, an increased sensitivity can occur for a few days after bleaching, and sometimes even lightning pain can occur. Therefore, the application of a medication with a high fluoride content after bleaching is recommended especially for these patients.

Only rarely do patients have to be given a small amount of local anesthetic to whiten their teeth. The need to take painkillers after bleaching is relatively rare. Therefore, you should inform us in good time of any hypersensitivity before you plan to bleach your teeth. Bleaching can then be carried out in several sessions.

What do I have to consider after teeth whitening/whitening?

In addition to the correct method (see above), the examination of your teeth is an important point before the bleaching process. Bad fillings or leaking root fillings should be detected.

A thorough tooth cleaning should always be carried out before bleaching.

After bleaching, it should be noted that discolouring foods (coloured fruit juices, tea, coffee, etc.) and nicotine should be avoided for about 48 hours.
