Bonus booklet dentist – what if lost?

Bonus booklet dentist:

Some dental patients will surely know a bonus booklet. It is a brown and white notebook in which the dentist puts his stamp. The stamps are not simply placed in the bonus booklet, but there are two main reasons why this booklet should ideally be stamped at regular intervals by your dentist. First, this little booklet reminds you to visit your dentist regularly for a check-up on your teeth. And on the other hand, it is about the costs of any upcoming dentures, because since the last major healthcare reform, not all costs for dentures have been reimbursed by the statutory health insurance. Regularly stamping the bonus book at your dentist can save you some money. Every member of a statutory health insurance company should have such a booklet and if not, you should apply to your health insurance company as soon as possible.

Saving money can be noticed when you need a tooth crown, dental bridge or denture in later years, for example. It is actually logical that the statutory health insurance company is already very interested in having your teeth examined and treated regularly. Because some dental diseases that are discovered at an early stage can still be treated inexpensively for the dental patient but also for statutory insurance at an early stage. If you do not pay attention to thorough dental care and the dentist is not regularly found for examination, it can lead to higher health damage and of course also higher costs.

The statutory health insurer then gives the insured patient an additional allowance in addition to a normal allowance, which is also referred to as a bonus. It is therefore very important that the dental patient has a complete bonus booklet. For example, in the case of regular examinations within 5 years, this means that the fixed grant increases by 20 percent. And that can make a big difference with dentures such as tooth crowns or even a dental implant. It is important to note that the patient for this grant from the statutory health insurance fund has visited his dentist at least once a year for a check-up. And if you are missing some stamps, it should not be a problem to have your bonus booklet stamped afterwards. Because the doctor’s office usually also keeps a file of your dental visits and should then know when which check-up was carried out.

But you can save money not only by regularly keeping a bonus booklet, but also by taking out private dental insurance in good time. In most cases, dentures such as dental bridges, dental crowns or dental prostheses only threaten at a later age. Therefore, early protection of your teeth applies with regard to late health and financial consequences. Depending on the tariff concluded, almost one hundred percent of the costs are borne by the insurer.

What advantages does a bonus booklet have for you?

After the costs for medical and dental treatments after the health care reform continue to rise – the topic of “practice fees” is known to be just one of the many points in this context – most people are generally unable to get expensive, yet necessary dentures afford more. However, the so-called bonus booklet has been around for a few years now and can give a patient a variety of advantages. In order to actually benefit from additional payments from the statutory health insurance fund, it is absolutely necessary to have the dentist of your choice examined at least once a year. The advantage of a bonus booklet is the cost, which is lower with good management.

For children between the ages of six and eighteen, the rule of the two visits to the dentist applies. Health insurance companies certainly also grant a fixed grant, which can amount to up to fifty percent. If a patient is able to prove that he took part in all mandatory check-ups within five years, the co-payment rate in question increases to sixty percent. Those who have themselves examined in a dental practice at regular intervals in a total of ten years will ultimately receive the maximum co-payment rate of sixty-five percent!

In any case, however, it should be pointed out that the patient starts again from "status zero" if it can be demonstrated that he has not had an examination carried out by a dentist within a single year. If a bonus booklet is lost, the health insurance company will immediately issue a new booklet without great effort, in which the treating dentist can add the examinations that have taken place so far. You should always pay attention to the advantages of the bonus booklet, and your teeth will thank you for it.

What to do if you lose your bonus book ?

The bonus booklet is a very important document. It records all check-ups that have been carried out at the dentist. Therefore, it should be kept very well. However, it may still happen that the bonus booklet is lost. Many people are now afraid that they will no longer be able to take advantage of the benefits that the bonus booklet can offer. With the entries in the bonus booklet, the subsidy of the health insurance companies can be increased very significantly, if in other cases an own contribution will be necessary. But people don’t need to be very scared if they lose the bonus booklet. The dentist also documented all the appointments that had taken place in his records. So it is necessary that the person who lost the bonus booklet informs the dentist about it. The latter will then be able to arrange for the treatments that served as a precaution to be added to a new bonus booklet.

This is necessary over a period of ten years. Because this period of time is crucial for the health insurers when they will provide their services. However, it can become a problem if more than one dentist has been visited in the past ten years. The problem then lies in the walking that the patient will have if he has to go from one doctor to another. Something else is not problematic, if the doctor confirms the date of the check-up with his stamp, it will be recognized by the health insurance. You will not be able to check whether the bonus book was lost and whether the data has only been added. The cash register does not care when the booklet was issued, it is only important that the treatments took place in this way. And the dentist confirms this with his signature and stamp.

How to save on dentures with your bonus book:

With a bonus booklet everyone can make cash for one Save dentures. This serves as proof that the patient has taken part in the dentist’s regular check-ups. For each treatment, the dentist will put a stamp in the booklet, which will then lead to the health insurance company paying a higher contribution as part of a denture treatment. If you otherwise have to pay very high costs out of your own pocket, you can, if you have the bonus booklet, receive higher benefits from the health insurance for dentures. It is important that innovations have been made to the bonus booklet as part of the health care reform. However, these have no financial impact on the patient.

It can only be seen from the point of view that the subsidy from the health insurers has been reduced, so the bonus booklet is even more valuable for dentures. While insurance companies previously paid a premium of 5 or 10 percent, this percentage has now reached up to 20 percent. This shows very clearly that the user of the bonus booklet can only win.

If you need a denture, you will quickly notice how high the costs will be. It is best if you consult the health insurance company with the cost estimate and the bonus booklet. The cash register will then take a closer look at the bonus booklet and will then be able to tell the patient what costs they can bear. For the higher benefits of the insurance, it is necessary that the bonus booklet can prove the preventive examinations of the last 5 years. If you can specify all preventive examinations in the bonus booklet for 10 years, you can get twice as much subsidy from the health insurance for dentures. This shows very clearly that the bonus booklet can be very important for dentures. If you take part in regular check-ups, you can not only reduce the risk of dentures, but also reduce the high costs that may result from the procedure.
