nitrous oxide treatment
Nitrous oxide treatment or inhalation sedation is mainly used for small and anxious children. A gas mixture (nitrous oxide, N2O) is used, the pain-relieving and sedative effect of which was discovered by Joseph Priestley in the 18th century. But how does nitrous oxide treatment work? In principle no different from adult patients: the gas mixture flows through a nasal mask to the child and gives him high spirits and self-confidence. Pain and gag reflex are significantly reduced. The treatment can then be carried out quickly and precisely and a short time later the child is in the "normal state".

The DIAGNODENT laser device, such as that used by the children’s dental practice at Isartor (in combination with a bacteria-sensitive light-active dye solution), detects dental diseases at an early stage, even before they are visible or noticeable. The operation of the device is quite simple: a red light is generated, which is reflected by carious teeth and guided back.
With this modern and harmless technology, even the smallest caries spots can be reliably detected. The treatment effort is significantly reduced.
