Comedia theater

A game for speed by Christina Kettering | UA

Why are you always late? Because …

Tempo plays a big role in our world. Sometimes time feels like gum stretching forever, and then another day goes by in an instant – where did it go? And why is that? Okay: the bus doesn’t wait, school starts at 7.45 a.m. Lessons last 45 minutes, afternoons shrink to two hours of playtime, and it is seven in the morning. If you are not quick there, you have missed most of it before it started. Tick Tock. Time is limited. But what about those who just prefer to be slow? Don’t want to or can’t be fast? Then they come too late. Or? Christina Kettering writes a piece about all the inexplicable phenomena that are related to time. Perhaps a praise for slowness? The piece is created in dialogue with the Cologne director Rüdiger Pape.

The play and the staging are in the context of, Nahtran! New plays for the children’s theater, a cooperation project between the Children’s and Youth Theater Center and the German Literature Fund e.V. have been funded by the Federal Commissioner for Culture and the Media.

duration. approx. 60 min.

AND IN THE REPERTOIRE

Dear viewers,

The COMEDIA Theater still needs your support to be able to offer this extensive program. Specifically, many of our visitors support the work of the house.
If you also want to support the Kinderkulturhaus, we offer you two options – in addition to membership in our sponsoring association: Become a chair sponsor and show your commitment in the foyer of the COMEDIA Theater! With the chair sponsorship you promote work for children and adolescents.

Our action «Ticket for short» second, gives you the chance to specifically invite a child to the theater. When you visit the COMEDIA Theater, simply buy an additional ticket for 5 euros for one Presentation of the COMEDIA children’s theater. We collect the tickets and then make them available to schools and other institutions that don’t have the money to their children to enable a visit to the theater.

You can find more information under sponsors or by phone (Susanne Faßbender, 0221 888 77 112).

The COMEDIA theater workshop offers preparatory and / or follow-up workshops for all of the plays in the COMEDIA children’s theater program subjects with the help of material folders.
