About us

For us, children are active designers of their development

The needs of the children are our priority. Through observation, accompaniment and discussion, we experience the uniqueness of each child, learn their wishes and strengthen them through individual support.

The daycare center is characterized by openness and tolerance, it is of course open to all children.

As part of our joint educational partnership as a daycare center with the parents, we need a trusting and open approach. We treat important information regarding the respective child confidentially. The care times are determined by the weekly hours of the respective day care voucher, exceptions and hourly purchases are possible with timely announcement and consultation with the day care center.
Our long opening hours are designed to help you combine work and family life.

The situation-oriented approach forms the basis of our pedagogical action, the main features of Reggio pedagogy expand our project work and our documentation in particular.

The group rooms are elaborate and sophisticated, offer versatile integrated functional corners and a stimulating learning environment. They are complemented by large outdoor areas and nearby playgrounds. Our houses have good connections to the HVV.

Kita Käptn Rabbit + Plus

In four In our facilities (Rönnkamp 1, Frohmestr. 67, Vogt-Wells-Str. 15b and the pre-school academy Frohmestr. 5) we have provided approx. 10% of the daycare places for children with special needs in the two age groups crèche and elementary. For us, inclusion is part of everyday life, we want to promote the togetherness of children with different development and performance requirements and their individual personality.

Our inclusion children are additionally looked after by curative education specialists and receive therapeutic support through external specialist practices. We have cooperation agreements with selected practices for speech therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy who have special experience in the therapeutic support of children.

The crèche children with special needs will continue to be accompanied by the early intervention centers, in the day care center they should be able to participate in everyday group life.

The day care center Rabbits +Plus, of course, all the quality features of our facilities offer, the admission of all children for the crèche and the elementary area remain unaffected. Because all children benefit from our approach of "Pedagogy of Diversity", because every child has the right to be strengthened in its strengths and to be accompanied in its weaknesses.

The last year before school

The last year before school means a change of status for the children: they are now the "big ones", manage their day-to-day life more independently and are gradually acquiring more and more skills for future school attendance.

We would like to promote these skills individually in an age-homogeneous group, so that the children are confident and curious on the Learning to be fired into primary school.

The preschool kids are excited and looking for something new! They have many questions, want to discover new things, try themselves out and explore their environment.

In the projects of the preschool academy, the children are challenged holistically and are motivated to deal intensively with their world issues.

Our preschool academies prepare the children for the transition from daycare to primary school. The basis of our pedagogical concept is the "common quality framework of the Hamburg daycare providers for the pre-school year in the daycare center". We combine this basis with the concept of our daycare centers.

The promotion of self-confidence is central to the development of children’s social-emotional competence. The children’s ability to concentrate, communicate and work in a team should be strengthened in preparation for school learning and creativity.

The children develop their skills in the following areas:

  • Numbers, sets, forms – basic mathematical knowledge
  • Language, letters, writing – language skills
  • Research, discovery, experimentation – basic scientific knowledge
  • Songs, dances, rhymes – musical education
  • Images, colors – aesthetic and creative education
  • Hop, climb, balance – motor skills
  • Joy, pride, confidence – emotional skills
  • “Learn to Learn”

Depending on availability and possibility, we can also offer:

  • English – early learning once a week (chargeable)
  • Swimming course (subject to availability of the swimming pool, subject to a fee)
  • do gymnastics
  • Kita trip for 2 ½ days (depending on the personnel situation, with costs)

Hamburg education package

The paid offers can of course also be billed or subsidized via the Hamburg education package.
