Conception of creche

Since October 2013 we have a crèche with 15 places for children aged 0 to 3 years. The new crèche was added to the existing kindergarten and the friendly, colorfully designed wooden facade underlines the name for our crèche “Villa Kunterbunt.

The premises of our crèche consist of the entrance area with a parental lounge area, a cloakroom for the little ones and a toilet for the disabled, the large group room with enough space for playing, experiencing and experiencing together, as well as a bedroom and rest room, as well as a sanitary room with children’s toilets and a large changing and changing room care sector.
The outdoor area includes a large sandpit and a playable small meadow strip.
The large group room is equipped with a built-in playhouse for climbing, hiding and playing, as well as child-friendly furniture and all kinds of play material that promotes development.
The crèche also has an integrated small kitchen to prepare small meals for our little ones.

Main focus of our work in the toddler area

1. Acclimatization

The individual arrangement of the acclimatization is of crucial importance. The parents should design the child-friendly acclimatization phase for 3-4 weeks with the care staff in order to respond to the children’s personal needs and sensitivities The parents to be able to enter.

The parents are always involved in the decision-making process regarding the duration and form of acclimatization. In this way, the child can grow gently into the new situation and slowly deal with the diverse impressions. The feelings of pain and sadness when separating from the parents are taken seriously and can be overcome by the gentle detachment.

2. Our daily routine

We want to create a recurring daily routine with the children, because repetitions and fixed rituals ensure security and the Strengthen children’s confidence. Fixed units provide support and orientation, making it easier to transition to kindergarten.

• Arrive
In the morning, every child is welcomed with their parents, greeted and we accompany parents and children individually in the separation process.

• The morning circle
When all the children are there, we want to greet each other together. In a short morning circle we sing age-appropriate songs, play finger, movement and circle games.

• Play, learn and learn

The most important activity for toddlers is playing. Playing is very important for development and covers experiences for the acquisition of basic skills.
Basic skills include e.g. self-awareness, self-assessment, motivation, cognitive skills and social skills such as (concentration, etc.) That is why children need suitable play material, different play partners and possibilities of movement.
We want the children to be themselves and the “world" can discover and have important experiences in all areas.
Children are curious. You want to discover and try it out. In addition to well thought-out educational materials, we deliberately want to use lots of everyday objects and “interesting" Materials offer children the opportunity to try out a lot and to do it"take". Experiencing and exploring with all senses is of crucial importance for cognitive development.

In order to promote contact with the kindergarten, we always want to invite some kindergarten children to our day nursery during the day. Even the crib children can come to kindergarten again and again. Especially the siblings should visit each other again and again. This creates familiarity among all children and also the respective staff.

• To eat and drink
We use the large lunch table in the group room. We want through the principle of "sliding snack" Support the individual eating needs of every child.
For us, a healthy snack and age-appropriate nutrition is important. A balanced snack like fruit, raw food, dairy products, porridge and bread. Tea and water are offered by the facility. If children still have their own drinks and bottles, they can bring them with them at any time.

• sleep and rest
We will deal with the children’s individual bed times and bed rituals as far as possible. We retreat to the quiet environment (bedroom) to let the many sensory impressions come to rest. Small mattresses, sleeping baskets and children’s beds are available for sleeping.

• Care and privacy
In our sanitary area there is a large changing area with an integrated bathtub. We want to make the changing situation comfortable for every child and in a calm, gentle manner.
Since we know that there must be a lot of familiarity in such an intimate situation, we take a lot of time for each child. With small tickle games, finger games and communication, we design the winding time.
We are slowly familiarizing the older children with the small children’s toilets. We support cleaning up in consultation with the parents with regard to the current situation at home when it comes to cleaning up.

• Parent work
For parents, the step of placing their child in a crèche is often associated with many fears and uncertainties. That is why the gentle and slow familiarization is very important.
Education and upbringing are understood as a common task of all persons who accompany the child in its education and development. The well-being of the child is always the focus, also in the dialogue between the parents and the educational professionals. This is how an educational partnership can arise, you can open up to each other and meet with trust, appreciation, transparency and open dialogue.
We want to involve the parents from the start through suitable observations and documentation of daily events and regular, short discussions. This gives parents the opportunity to experience and shape everyday educational life in the facility.

• Documentation
Observation and documentation of learning and development processes can be done in many ways. For our crèche children, observing children’s play is a particularly suitable way of access to find out what competencies they already have, what interests them, what questions they have, etc. Also the non-linguistic utterances must be given careful attention.
All development steps and daily observations are documented by us and serve as the basis for the dialogue with the parents. Technical observation sheets (Beller) are also carried out for each child.
