This industry is booming and new ship units are added every year. The average duration of a cruise is 7 nights and the average price per night is 187 euros per passenger. Hamburg is well ahead of Warnemünde and Kiel at the German departure ports for cruises. The average age of cruises has been falling for years and is currently 49 years. Most cruise customers are now between 41 and 55 years. Then come the 56 to 65 year olds, followed by the 66 to 75 year olds. Internationally and especially in Germany, one expects further growth of this form of vacation. Increasing capacities at the organizers bring enormous selling pressure and thus more and more customers have to be lured on board the ships.
