Your sightseeing program: Day trip to Luxor from El Gouna by bus

Around 5:00 am we pick you up directly at your hotel in El Gouna. In the air-conditioned bus you enjoy the journey between mountains and desert to Luxor.

The day trip by bus to Luxor from El Gouna by bus starts with a visit to Theben West. In the Valley of the Kings the important rulers of Egypt found their last resting place. Over 60 graves have been discovered by archaeologists in the Valley of the Kings. We visit three of the rock tombs of the Pharaohs with their antique murals. They wonderfully reflect the ancient Egyptian ideas of the journey to the afterlife. The grave inspection of the famous Pharaoh Tut-anch-Amun (incl.) represents the highlight without question. The largest part of the Tut-anch-Amun treasures is exhibited today in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. With a day trip to Cairo with flight you complete your cultural Egypt tour. Optional further grave visits are possible. The grave of the Nefertari, wife Ramses II (Ramses the Great) in the valley of the queens (optional visit) is to be particularly emphasized.

The next stop of the day trip to Luxor from El Gouna by bus takes us to Deir el Bahari to the imposing and impressive terrace temple of Queen Hatshepsut, who ruled Egypt from 1479 to 1458 BC. Already from a distance we see the two sitting monumental statues, the Memnon Colossi. As guardians of the temples, they represent the soul of Pharaoh Amenophis.

In an alabaster factory you can look over the shoulder of the craftsmen working on the alabaster, who still today produce unique pieces in traditional handicraft.

After a refreshing lunch (excl. drinks) our day trip to Luxor leads us to Theben East to visit the unique temple of Karnak, which in ancient times was reserved only for priests and pharaohs. Lion bodies with ram heads line the Sphinx Allee up to the 1st portal, the main entrance of the temple complex. Through the 2nd portal you pass through the grandiose columned hall, which was one of the seven wonders of the world in ancient times. Here you will find the Great Temple of Amun and the Holy of Holies, the hall with the shrine of the gods.

Browse the shops for a while for possible souvenirs. With a basket full of unforgettable memories we drive back to El Gouna in the late afternoon in an air-conditioned bus. The cultural day trip to Luxor has certainly met your expectations.

Enjoy the evening return journey in the air-conditioned minibus back to your holiday hotel. Arrival approx. 22 o’clock.
