Dental crowns: healing and cost plan and cost estimate

crowns
Costs, information & price comparison

Before the treatment with crowns, the dentist creates a healing and cost plan. This represents the cost estimate for a tooth crown. Here, the findings as well as the exact treatment planning and the expected costs are kept.

On MediKompassDE you can obtain comparative offers free of charge: In a non-binding, free online auction, experienced dentists bid on your specific treatment request.

We save on average more than € 1,000 for each patient for complex dental treatments. Our service is free and is recommended by many health insurance companies.

The estimate as HKP

Before a dental crown treatment is started, a health and cost plan is drawn up for the legally insured in which the planned care, the findings and the presumably. Crown treatment costs (BEMA fee, GOZ fee and material and laboratory costs) are noted.

Frequently, the dentist also specifies the expected fixed grant and thus shows the patient’s own share of crowns, which is so important for the patient.

Artificial tooth crowns are abbreviated to K, KV or KM in the healing and cost plan – depending on whether they are not made at all (K), partially (KV) or fully veneered (KM).

fixed subsidies

Fixed grants have been granted depending on the findings since 2005. The fixed grants for crowns correspond to numbers 1.1 – 1.5 of the fixed grants guideline.

Fixed subsidy area

The normal fixed grant and the double fixed grant according to the hardship case regulation will be stated.

Abbreviations for crowns used in the HKP

Artificial tooth crowns are abbreviated to K, KV or KM in the healing and cost plan – depending on whether they are not made at all (K), partially (KV) or fully veneered (KM).

It is not easy for patients to understand the plan. You will find an overview below. Please note that due to the systematic structure of the tooth scheme, the same abbreviation may mean something different if it is on a different line.

Which line?

Explanation of the abbreviations

This tooth is worth preserving, but has severe defects. it has to be crowned.

This tooth is currently crowned. However, the existing crown should be replaced.

The tooth currently crowned should be extracted.

B efund) line

A k in the B (efund) line means that there is an unblended crown at this point.

Example 1: HKP for an implant crown

odontogram

SKM

Explanation of treatment

In this treatment, an implant with a crown is provided as a replacement for the right canine (13).

Findings (B line)

The X shows that tooth 13 must be extracted. This tooth cannot be preserved. The two wisdom teeth in the upper jaw are missing, so there is an F on 18 and 28.

Standard care (R line)

The R line is not used for standard care in implant treatments. Instead, you mark with an I that the placement of an implant is planned at this point. In this case, the line for regular care is used as the second line of therapy planning.

Therapy planning (TP line)

In the TP line there is 13 SKM on the tooth: You can see on the K that a crown should be placed here. The S (stands for Supra) specifies that it is an implant-supported crown. The M indicates that the crown will be fully veneered.

Explanation of treatment

Only treatment of the lower jaw is provided, since both the R line and the TP line for the upper jaw (OK) are empty.

Findings (B line)

The wisdom teeth (18 and 28) are missing.

The wisdom teeth (48 and 38) are missing. On the penultimate molar on the right there is an intact, uncovered crown (k). The two rear molars on the left (36 and 37) are already crowned, but the artificial tooth crowns are defective and must be replaced (no other details).

Standard care (R line)

The defective tooth crowns should be replaced with new ones. Since the teeth to be treated are beyond the veneering limit, no veneering is intended. (Not done because the TP line is filled.)

Therapy planning (TP line)

All-ceramic crowns should be placed as an alternative, similar treatment.
