Disposal of old tires: what costs are involved??

If you drive a lot, the tires of your car often reach the end of their service life very quickly. Then the question often arises where to dispose of the old, worn winter tires because you are no longer allowed to mount them. In our interview, we asked the cost-check expert what disposal options are available for old tires and what the costs are.

Cost check expert: car tires are so-called composite materials – they consist of many different materials, many of which can be recycled. Disposal must therefore be carried out in an appropriate specialist company that can also process the tires for subsequent recycling.

Disposal in household waste or even in the nearby forest is not possible at all. This is also subject to sometimes considerable fines – depending on the number of tires and the illegal "disposal site", this can cost between EUR 30 and up to EUR 25 per tire.000 EUR fine means.

Old tires can be disposed of at all of the following locations. They are then sent for planned and regular recycling.

In many cases, old tires can be disposed of free of charge – when you buy a new tire at a tire dealer, the old tires are often disposed of free of charge as well. Many building yards also often offer completely free disposal if you bring the tires yourself.

Commercial disposal of old tires

If you run your own garage or car dealership and therefore have to dispose of a large number of old tires on a regular basis, it is best to rely on a specialized service provider. In these cases, the collection of the tires from a collection point on our own premises is usually included.

Cost example from practice
