So now 2012 is over – it was probably the most exciting and most beautiful year of my life. with this little miracle that has entered our lives. A year ago we had no idea and now he has been enjoying us for 3 months, our dearest boy! Now I’m really looking forward to 2013!
I promised you wearing photos of the duffle coat – here they are! It fits him so well, the color is perfect – even though I bought the wool, so I still had my round stomach – and the hood is sooo great, looks really cute and packs my neck nicely! The size also fits great, I chose the version for 3 to 6 months. J already fits in well, there is also enough scope for them next months!

Really cute your little one and the jacket only underlines that.

The little person distracts quite a bit from the wonder of knitting. You did both really well .
oh, your little one is like that. * Hach *
and the blue cardigan looks great on him!!
I wish you three a wonderful new year with a lot of time together
I really liked the duffle coat – and your baby looks so happy in it I imagine that it should be possible to get there, even without a pattern, but one thing would be helpful to know: the two front parts including the hood are each in one knitted piece and then simply sewn together at the top or the hood extra off knitted?
It’s so great and looks good on your little one.

Thanks for your nice comments!!
@mme ulma: so the shoulders are chained off at the front and a few stitches for the hood on a thread stand calmly. on the back part, all stitches are cast off. then you sew the shoulder seams together. then you take the stitches of one front part on the needle, open stitches for the back part of the hood (this is more than for the back part so that it can then be sewn together in the neck) and then the stitches of the second front part. then the hood is knitted straight up, chained and sewn together at the top.
I hope this is understandable? I only borrowed the book myself, so I can’t say / write it down now
Many thanks for your detailed description, I will pass it on to my mom, from whom I wished for my dwarf on his first birthday a duffle coat based on the one you knitted (practical if you can just wish yourself something , because the birthday child himself cannot yet make a decision or at least is not yet able to articulate his wish so clearly * laughs *). all the best, °°° u.
