Educational assistance at the asb

Life doesn’t always go as planned. Our knowledgeable staff are available to advise children, adolescents and parents on problems and support, for example through educational support.

The educational advice centers of the ASB are often the starting point for further education and help can by those seeking advice free of charge and with low threshold, even without prior advice application and authorization can be used. In contrast to general family counseling services, parenting counseling helps children, adolescents, parents and other legal guardians to clarify and deal with individual and family-related problems. Therefore, the child or adolescent is also included here. In order to be able to guarantee comprehensive advice, the ASB advice centers have teams with specialists from various fields, e.g. Psychologists, social educators, therapists, etc.

Social learning is at the heart of ASB’s social pedagogical group work. The aim is to help older children from around the age of ten and adolescents to overcome behavioral problems and developmental delays. In order to resolve existing crisis or stress situations, the ASB often combines social pedagogical knowledge with the knowledge gained from animal-based pedagogy.

The child or the adolescent continues to live in a family environment as part of an educational advisory service, but is accompanied by a social education specialist from the ASB, regular conversations with the child/ Leads young people and the custodian. The educational support supports the child or the adolescent in coping with development problems and promotes his independence.

The aim of the ASB’s Social Pedagogical Family Assistance (SPFH) is to support families with problems of upbringing and everyday life or with the resolution of conflicts and crises through intensive care and support. The family’s own strength and thus also the relationships with the social environment should be stimulated and strengthened. The family helpers of the ASB go directly into the families and give educational and practical help to cope with everyday family life and help for self-help. They provide advice on educational issues, guide the housekeeping and support with financial problems or dealing with authorities.

When educating in a day group of the ASB, the parents are relieved for a significant part of the day and the children and adolescents are promoted in their school and social development through socio-educational group offers, school support or therapeutic offers. At the same time, parents are advised and supported on educational issues in order to strengthen and permanently stabilize the relationships between all family members.
