Environmental and nature protection – children and young people participate

Environmental protection is not only a concern of adults – children and young people can participate as well and combine it with fun! Meet other young people, get to know nature and how to protect it from experts, take part in great campaigns, go to holiday camps and stand up for your ideals! RESET introduces you to organizations and groups that you can help make the world a little better.

Anyone who believes that environmental protection is only for adults is wrong. Children and young people can also take action – the future is in the hands of all of us. There is a huge range of hands-on activities. Whether at school, youth clubs or environmental organizations – everywhere there is the opportunity to work sustainably for a better future. Awareness of the environment, nature and climate is heightened and expanded through games, fun and actions.

Active youth at NAJU, Greenpeace, WWF and Co.

In which NAJU federal association children from 6 to 13 years can participate. With the children’s groups, the NAJU organizes vacation trips, free time and various activities to increase the environmental awareness of the kids. The NAJUversum helps to find a group of children nearby. The NAJU national associations offer training courses, seminars and free time for young people aged 14 and over. Everyone who is younger than 27 and is still in training, school or study pays a lower annual fee of at least 24 euros per year.

Do you want to do flash mobs to point out environmental problems, organize castor vigils, protest forest clearing and genetic engineering? Then take a look at them Jags on. JAG stands for greenpeace youth. Young people between the ages of 14 and 19 can become active here. In many places there are youth groups in which you can fight against environmental degradation. The WWF Youth – like its big sister WWF – campaigns and campaigns to protect endangered species and their habitats. With their support, they want to help preserve the earth’s biodiversity and use renewable resources in a nature-friendly manner, reduce pollution and draw attention to wasteful consumption. FÖJ, FSJ, EFD and BFD – voluntarily for the common good

Plant trees and save the world!

A school department of 9-year-old Felix has become an international movement – Plant for the Planet. Plant for the Planet’s goal is to plant 1,000 billion trees. The many children and youth groups that have emerged since 2007 have already planted 12 billion trees worldwide. Become a member and help reforest forests or register your own planted trees to see how many trees are still missing. You can also go to one of the Plant for the Planet academies, where there are workshops, children are trained as ambassadors, and you learn all about climate justice. Participation in the academies is free of charge.

Wikiwoods is an online platform where different actors come together and have the opportunity to organize themselves in groups and carry out forest and tree planting activities in their area. Climate protectors, hobby planters and school classes can join forces with foresters and environmental groups there.

The Forestkid Network is a network for children who are interested in the forest and its inhabitants. Various campaigns and projects for schools and groups of children and young people are offered as well as tree planting campaigns.

Sustainability in everyday life

Exchange-you-fit is the first internet exchange for children and young people in Germany. Here you have the opportunity to exchange toys, DVDs or sports accessories with others. By passing on and recycling their toys, even the little ones discover the advantages of sustainable consumption. The exchange is combined with a knowledge exchange on trading.
