If babies or toddlers are on the excursion, there is of course a lot more to think about, such as diapers, baby food, bottle warmers, change clothes, etc.

The right equipment also includes – very importantly – a compact first aid kit, because small injuries can always happen on the way. In addition to adhesive plasters in several sizes and small scissors, a pair of disposable gloves should be placed in the first aid bag (they protect against cuts and bacteria from other germs), disinfectant spray, if necessary. Unfortunately, it happens regularly that the weather literally "spills" the planned excursion outdoors. But there are definitely excursion destinations that are suitable for the whole family, especially in bad weather. A visit to the museum is a classic. The density of museums designed for families with children is high in Germany. From the toy and doll museum to the traffic museum to natural history facilities – to name just a few examples – there is something for all age groups and for both girls and boys.

A classic in rainy weather is of course going to the cinema. In larger cinemas, the program is designed so that different films for children are shown almost every day on several dates. Many cinemas also offer cinema days for families, often with a colorful supporting program such as children’s ham. Trips with children for little money

Trips with children can be expensive fun. Stays in amusement parks in particular, but also in zoos, can be really expensive. But excursions do not always have to go into the money, there are certainly options that save your wallet. In good weather, for example, a visit to an adventure playground or a city park is recommended. This excursion can then be perfectly combined with a picnic on the green meadow. A picnic basket with delicious things like sandwiches, fresh fruit, muffins etc. will make all children’s hearts beat faster. To pass the time, play equipment such as soccer, badminton rackets, bocce balls, etc. can also be taken. Children also enjoy simple games such as catching and hiding with their parents.

Excursions such as bicycle tours (for example, again with an integrated picnic) or a visit to a mini golf course are not very expensive. Children can also enjoy a walk on a forest adventure trail – there is not only a lot to discover here, but also interesting facts about nature.

Excursions with children including overnight stays

It is of course a special experience for the family if the trip is combined with an overnight stay. Many German amusement parks now offer this option. But it is also possible to combine the excursion with a city trip in order to discover as much as possible on site, regardless of whether visiting the zoo and museum, etc. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay, there are youth hostels. There are family rooms with several beds. Another option is, of course, an overnight stay in a guest house or in a hotel.
