We were allowed to test the smart automatic feeder from medion MD 60228.
Dimension : approx. 24,4 x 35,6 x 25 cm (W x H x D ) weight ca. 2.2kg
the feeder has a compact size that can be placed anywhere.
The size of the storage container is 3.7 liters. The food bowl is removable and can be easily cleaned with warm water and mild detergent.
The feeder has a manual feeding button, as well as a LED display that gives information about the level of the supply container.
The integrated HD camera makes a good picture and can even be used at night or in the morning. Can be used in the dark even if we have not tried it yet.
Since we prefer to feed our dog from the bowl, we have used the feeder when our floppy ear was alone at home.
Because you can access the feeder via app while on the road and talk to and feed your cat via the integrated camera with microphone and loudspeaker.
In the beginning, our floppy ear has always looked where the voice comes from, but eventually he got used to it.

The only thing I do not like is that you can not increase the number of grams.
Installation of the machine is simple.

The feeder is super easy to set up and set up with the app from medion.
It looks very chic and is not a nuisance in the apartment. We have tested it on our 2 cats.
First, the two ladies were very reluctant and had to look several times what this actually is. On the second day, the whole thing was then no longer a problem and they have eaten super from the bowl.
The app is really easy to use and works great. Especially when you are not at home, the automatic feeding schedule is super, so that the two always have something to eat. Cleaning is also very easy and uncomplicated.
You can even watch your pet through the camera, which is really good. The voice function is very funny and our two even reacted to it.
We would never have bought such a feeder before, but now we are totally convinced and can only recommend it.

We use the medion® smart feeder every day and have been able to test it extensively.
In the user manual there is a QR code to get to the medion pet app. Unfortunately you get there to the medion life+ app.
Otherwise, the instruction manual is helpful and easy to understand.
The medion pet app is quick to set up and works great.
You can talk about the app live with his animal or just watch what the dog / cat does.
We didn’t use the voice function very often because it scared simba.
Unfortunately the photo function did not work for us, so we just took screenshots or used the video function.
The camera has a good resolution, even in the dark, because it has a night vision function.
Since we work in shifts we find it very good that you can set the feeding times. It is also great that you can give a small portion in between as a reward.
That worked great via the app.
Of course, you can also press on the device itself to fill food in the bowl.
The bowl is easy to remove for cleaning.
On the machine is a LED that shows the fill level.
Our conclusion is that we find the machine super helpful to watch your pet and feed it when you are at work. We will definitely continue to use it and can only recommend it to others.
Annica tests the MEDION® smart feeder
We were allowed to test now for some weeks the automatic feeder of medion.
The machine itself makes a good impression. What I find impractical is that the food bowl does not hold on the machine when you move the machine and you have to take him separately.
Medion promises very simple operation and, with the medion app for android and ios, access from anywhere. Here only 2.4 ghz and WLAN networks are supported.
If you have actually managed to connect the app with the feeder, the operation is in my opinion really quite simple.
However, the initial setup was not so easy and required a little patience, because the coupling of the app and the feeder did not work right away. The reading of the QR code just did not work. No matter how I held the phone in front of the camera, it would not be read. But since I did not want to give up, it finally worked after a few resets after 1.5 hours.
The feeder offers space for up to 3.7 kg of food, which I personally find quite practical. However, I could not make every kind of dry food purely. The brekkets from our one food were too big and so they did not fall out. You can enter fixed feeding times via the app. This I have not used so, but I have tried it in any case times and it has worked great there. I used the feeder mainly in the office when I was in meetings or had to get something in the city and the dogs had to stay alone in the office. Because unfortunately they are alone not always the best show dogs and bark frequently. Through the built-in camera I could watch both even in meetings via HD video signal and keep them from doing stupid things by the manual feeding. & after only one use, holly adored the machine and had no more eyes and ears for other things. Django however has always been afraid of the sound of the food flicking in and he has not used it. However, he is also very sensitive and suffers from separation anxiety and then does not eat anyway, but at least makes no nonsense. Unfortunately, the mounting of the camera is not ideal. You can not see the amount of food in the bowl and also only a little bit of the head and the ears when is eaten.
You can also run the feeder with a powerbank. We haven’t tried this yet, but we might do it in the future on our trip with the camper.
I personally find it totally practical and somehow funny to be able to see my dogs through the integrated camera from anywhere. Also the voice function is good even if slightly consumed.
