Disability insurance

Why?

If you are unable to work or can no longer pursue your job for health reasons, you are entitled to a disability pension. However, according to the German Pension Insurance Association, this has been decreasing since 2000. In 2011, women received an average pension of 561 euros, men received 568 euros. Since the state benefits are far from sufficient to provide for themselves, and if necessary, the family, the conclusion of a disability insurance is indispensable.

risk!

One in four Germans will become disabled before the onset of retirement due to diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases or diseases of the psyche. The state offers only very poor basic protection through the earning capacity disability pension and does not catch the financial gap.

For whom?

In principle, every working person or future employee must protect himself from the financial consequences of an occupational disability. The risk applies to all professions, whether mentally or physically. Beginners in particular should think about the conclusion of a BU insurance at an early stage. Disability risks include not only physical limitations due to congestion or accidents, but also mental illnesses such as depression. The right to a reduced earning capacity pension applies only after 5 years of waiting. Until then there is no insurance cover.

Statutory health insurance

Why?

The statutory health insurance takes over medical treatment costs, for example, at the family doctor, dentist or in the hospital. It offers certain basic services that are identical for all providers. In addition, there are numerous additional benefits, such as special retirement programs or special offers for families with children. Whether or which additional services will be used will be up to the insured person’s own preferences.

risk!

Every person will eventually need medical treatment. Whether it is just a vaccine or a hospital stay, there are always costs that can rarely be borne by the patient in the long run. The statutory health insurance as compulsory insurance bears these costs.

For whom?

The statutory health insurance is compulsory insurance prescribed by the state. This means that every German citizen must be a member of a statutory health insurance, if he is not already privately insured. The choice of one of the approximately 90 statutory health insurance funds is completely free, as they are obliged to accept anyone who wishes to join.

Liability insurance

Why?

The liability insurance protects the insured from the claims asserted by others in the event of damage caused by him. Personal liability insurance covers personal injury, property damage and financial loss. Who concludes a private liability insurance, can leave the claim settlement to the insurer. If serious personal injury occurs, there are often lifelong payment obligations.

risk!

Each person can cause harm to others through a small mistake and is then obliged to pay damages. Often, small carelessness entails high claims for damages.

For whom?

The private liability insurance is one of the most important insurance at all. A degree is basically for everyone, whether individual, couples or families recommended.

Household

Why?

The insurance cover of household insurance covers the entire household contents of the insured apartment. With a home contents insurance you protect your entire property against burglary, robbery, fire, vandalism, lightning, explosion, tap water, storm and hail damage.
Even unusual risks, such as damage caused by vehicle collision or plane crash, are replaced by the insurer. Depending on the tariff, the insured person will receive compensation even for frozen food damage after a power outage, key loss or damage after internal disturbances.

risk!

Even a small carelessness, such as a fallen candle, can lead to a flat fire and thus to a financial disaster. Although nobody likes to imagine this situation, it is still often unimaginable at home. So that tenants or owners do not stand empty-handed, the household contents insurance protects by replacement value replacement and reliable claims settlement.

For whom?

Home contents insurance can already be important for young people. The household protection over the parents falls away with the extract in the first own apartment, now you have to provide even the proper insurance coverage. Generally, home contents insurance makes sense for every tenant and landlord.

Dog liability insurance

Why?

There are around five million dogs in Germany, but not even half of their owners are properly secured in the event of damage. Obligatory is the dog liability only in a few German states, but it is generally recommended to every dog owner. The insurance cover includes not only injuries caused by dogs, but also rent damages in Germany and abroad as well as so-called “cover damage” to bitches.

risk!

No matter how well-behaved and affable a dog is normally, his master can never have 100% control over his pet. If your dog suffers damage to other persons or objects, the owner is fully liable. In the event of serious physical injuries or dog-induced traffic accidents, the financial loss can easily reach millions.

For whom?

A dog liability insurance is recommended for every dog owner, no matter which breed the pet belongs to. However, in the states of Berlin, Saxony-Anhalt, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Thuringia, it is already mandatory for every dog owner. In some other states insurance coverage is mandatory only for dogs classified as dangerous or conspicuous.

Car insurance

Why?

Motor liability insurance is compulsory for all road users in Germany. It covers the costs incurred in a traffic accident with its own debt to other persons or vehicles. In order to be reimbursed the cost of damage to your own vehicle, additional insurance is required. The partial coverage covers, among other things, damage caused by theft or bad weather. The fully comprehensive insurance, on the other hand, also covers the damage to your own car in the event of self-inflicted accidents.

risk!

As a vehicle keeper, you are constantly exposed to road traffic hazards. Regardless of whether one’s own or third-party debts, the damage to other people and vehicles quickly goes into the thousands. Especially personal injury often entails lengthy and expensive treatments, for which the cause of the accident arises.

For whom?

Every car owner in Germany must have at least a motor liability insurance for his car. With mostly the same services, however, there are big differences in the price, so it’s worth comparing here. Partial and fully comprehensive insurance are recommended for new or a few years old cars whose total loss would bring a high financial loss.

Private health insurance

Why?

The benefits of private health insurance go in many beyond the range of services offered by the statutory health insurance funds. As a legally insured patient you have to pay for these services yourself. The private health insurance allows, for example, single or double rooms in the hospital, chief physician treatment or higher-quality dental treatments.

risk!

In some cases, the insurance coverage of the statutory health insurance is not sufficient. Often there is a desire for higher quality treatments, which are not possible by the statutory health insurance. In such cases, a private health insurance offers, in which the desired benefits can be selected from a wide range.

For whom?

Admission to private health insurance is subject to a number of conditions. While self-employed, freelancers and civil servants can switch to private health insurance on a voluntary and income-independent basis, employees must exceed the so-called annual earnings limit. This means that they currently have to earn at least € 54,900 a year to join a private health insurance scheme. For all occupational groups, a health examination is also obligatory, on the basis of which the private health fund decides on admission and its conditions.

Private care insurance

Why?

83% of the 2.5 million people in Germany who are permanently dependent on care are 65 and older. They need help with daily tasks such as getting up, washing, dressing, walking, standing, climbing stairs, eating or drinking. The compulsory long-term care insurance then pays a maximum amount of 1550 euros in level III, depending on the need. However, since a place in the nursing home costs up to 3500 euros, the money from the nursing care insurance is far from sufficient. This difference must be financed by the needy or their dependents. In the future, the costs will continue to rise, and for more and more people in need of care, the aging society will have to pay.

risk!

Already today about 2.5 million Germans are in need of care. The cost of a nursing home with inpatient care in the care level III can cost on average more than 3,500.00 euros per month. The statutory long-term care insurance offers only basic coverage here. In order to close this gap and to protect its relatives from being burdened with payments, it makes more sense to conclude a private long-term care insurance.

For whom?

The private long-term care insurance is a very useful extension of the personal insurance portfolio and useful for all professional groups such as employees / employees, self-employed and freelancers, as well as civil servants or civil service candidates. After all, almost one in two is now in need of care during their lifetime, so that the legal insurance here can hardly offer comprehensive services.
