Come on, let’s discover Mallorca!

It has been the Germans’ favorite island for years, and not without reason: Mallorca has a lot to offer. Full sun, beautiful beaches and numerous discoveries. It doesn’t matter whether you spend your holiday in Mallorca with a toddler or larger children – here is the right adventure for everyone!

Relaxed on the beach

If you spend the holidays with your children in Mallorca, you probably have one thing in mind: beach vacation! Even if it is still or already cold and uncomfortable in Germany, you can splash around in the sea on the Mediterranean island. The most popular beaches for families are the Bay of Alcudia, Cala Millor or Paguera. From long beaches that seem endless like in Playa de Muro, Alcudia or Paguera to small bays with turquoise water like in Cala D’or or Cala Mondrago you will find beautiful postcard motifs here. If you’re looking for Caribbean flair, don’t forget the Es Trenc beach: the absolute favorite beach among all connoisseurs! Unfortunately Es Trenc is no longer an insider tip, so you have to prepare yourself for a lot of tourists.

Exciting island capital

If you are traveling to Mallorca with your child, you should not miss a trip to the island’s capital, Palma de Mallorca. The symbol of the city is the cathedral La Seu, which is so impressive that it impresses from a distance. The cathedral was built over six centuries. The completed work will surely fascinate both small and large family members! The old town of Palma is also impressive. Here you can go shopping, enjoy a coffee and a slice of almond cake and find wonderful photo opportunities in the small parks and backyards.

Let’s go to the port of Palma: A boat trip on the Mediterranean shows how impressive the backdrop of Palma is. Back on land you can marvel at the ships that lie here: In addition to simple fishing boats, luxury yachts and cruise boats are also at anchor here, which set out from here in a wide variety of directions.
Mallorca is generally known for its picturesque harbors. In Port d’Alcudia or Port de Pollensa there are one or two luxury yachts to admire. Enjoy the maritime flair! Of course, you can also borrow a boat or a larger yacht and go on a tour at any time – organized or guided by yourself.

On the way with the red flash

You and your loved ones can take a special tour of the island with the Tren de Sóller, which is also the one "red flash" is called. The narrow-gauge railway lives up to its name: the track width is just 914 millimeters. There is a lot to see on the route: the train route from Palma to Sóller is 13 kilometers long, and 13 tunnels are passed on the way. You also drive over the 52-meter-long viaduct "Cinc Ponts".

Once in the small town of Sóller you can explore the botanical garden. A stroll through the small town is always worthwhile. The beach, many small cafes and restaurants as well as nice souvenir shops await you here. Be sure to try one of the oranges that grow here and for which the island is known. Then it’s back to the family hotel in your resort.

On the trail of the kite

Go on an adventure trip with your children: The dragon island Dragonera lies in front of Mallorca and impresses with its untouched nature. You come to the island by boat – this is certainly an unforgettable adventure for little pirates! Once there, you can climb one of the three hiking trails and discover the animals that live here.

It gets exciting and mystical when exploring the "Cuevas del Drac", the dragon caves. Something very special awaits you here: the caves contain the largest underground lake in the world. A special highlight of the tour through the underground wonderland is the 10-minute classical concert, which you and the children will surely remember for a long time.

pure nature

If you want to experience more of Mallorca’s beautiful nature, the Parc Natural de S’Albufera is the place for you. The 1,646 hectare nature reserve in the northeast of the island is home to around 271 bird species that you can observe here. March through the endless dune landscape and untouched green!

Exotic animals live in the Safari Zoo in Porto Cristo. Here, small and large animal lovers can see lions, elephants, giraffes, flamingos and zebras from their own cars or from the Safari Zoo train.

Every Mallorca holiday also includes a visit to a market. Fruit, vegetables, souvenirs, the popular Flor de Sel on the island, ceramics and leather goods – all of these are on sale here. Don’t forget to trade! The most popular markets include the market in Sineu, Artà or Andratx. But the smaller markets in the holiday regions are always worth a visit.

Experience island history

One of the most popular excursion destinations in Mallorca is the Capdepera Castle. The huge castle complex, which was built in the 13th century, is located near Artà. Since the walls are on a mountain, you can not only marvel at them, but also have a wonderful view of the surroundings

Water fun and amusement parks

The various amusement parks on the island are real magnets, especially for children. Whether Marineland with its dolphin shows or the Palma Aquarium, where you can marvel at all kinds of sea creatures with the kids, or Aqualand with its numerous action-packed slides – fun is at the top of the program here!
