Come on, let’s discover the Canaries!

Your next family vacation will take you to the Canary Islands? Wonderful, then you can look forward to breathtaking natural landscapes and sunny weather. No matter which of the islands you spend your vacation on, there is a lot to experience everywhere. The smaller islands of La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma are in no way inferior to the larger sister islands of Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Tenerife and Fuerteventura! Can’t choose a Canary Island? This is also not a problem: there are often opportunities to reach the other islands by boat, where you can then start your exploration tour.

Exciting adventures in Gran Canaria

Contrary to what the name suggests, Gran Canaria is only the third largest island in the Canary Islands. But because it is most developed for tourism, you will get your money’s worth on your family holiday in the Canary Islands. The most Vacationers spend their stay on the coast in the south of the island, for example in Maspalomas or in Playa del Inglès, which is famous for its fine sandy and kilometer-long beach and the hiking dunes there. Life rages in the place itself. You can experience a particularly exciting excursion on a jeep safari in the north.

The capital Las Palmas with its historical buildings and the mighty cathedral is also worth a visit. If you are on holiday with the family to the Canary Island of Gran Canaria, you can also look forward to exciting natural sites: admire the dune landscape of Maspalomas or climb the Roque Nublo, the island’s landmark, which is worshiped like a sanctuary.

Black beaches in Tenerife

Do you want to spend a vacation in the Canaries during the autumn holidays? Then Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, is also recommended. The island lures with a very special trademark: black beaches! The unusual color comes from the lava that the island volcano Pico del Teide has spat out over time. But don’t worry, the volcano is still active, but has not erupted for a long time – so nothing stands in the way of a relaxing family holiday on the Canary Island!

One of the main attractions on the island, alongside the Loro Parque volcano, is home to the largest parrot collection in the world. In addition, the largest water park in Europe is located on Tenerife, the Siam Park.

Pure relaxation in Lanzarote

On Lanzarote you and the children can still clearly see the traces of volcanism. On a discovery tour in the area of Playa Blanca you can discover rock formations that seem bizarre. The well-visited Papagayo beaches are just a stone’s throw away. Since they fall flat, they are ideal for a beach visit with the kids.

If you want to immerse yourself in the nature of the island, the best way to do this is in the Timanfaya National Park, which is located in the west of Lanzarote. On a guided tour, you and the children learn all sorts of interesting facts about volcanoes, craters, lava, etc. – this is certainly exciting for both small and large holidaymakers!

Exciting landscapes in Fuerteventura

If you spend your all-inclusive holiday in the Canary Islands on the island of Fuerteventura, you can look forward to a particularly varied range of sports options. Not only can you hike and ride here, water sports are also very popular. Fuerteventura is especially known as a surfers paradise.

After you have conquered the waves, you go back to dry ground – in the truest sense of the word. The desert landscape of El Jable is the exact opposite of the cool water of the sea and will surely captivate you and your family. After the discovery tour, you can treat yourself to something delicious: How about an island-typical dessert, the Flan?

Experience Canary Island dreams

You can also experience a lot with your family on the three other main islands of the Canary Islands, El Hierro, La Gomera and La Palma. On La Gomera, for example, a wild and at the same time lovely island awaits you. Around the The highest mountain on the island, the Garajonay, you will find the nature park of the same name, which offers a great insight into the naturalness of the island.

The smallest of the Canary Islands, El Hierro, is in no way inferior to its great role models: The island lures with idyllic bays, with fantastic beaches and with breathtaking nature. If you spend your Canary Island vacation with the children on El Hierro, you should not forget your hiking shoes: You can expect a large network of hiking trails that leads across the entire island. A highlight are the viewing platforms, which allow a wonderful panoramic view of the island and the sea.

There is also a little less hustle and bustle than on the sister islands on La Palma. A very special appearance awaits you here: Dense pine and laurel forests, impressive volcanic landscapes and an approximately 2,500 meter high mountain ridge make up the image of the island. Anyone who explores the island cannot avoid Santa Cruz de la Palma: The city welcomes you with wonderful Spanish colonial architecture.
