Come on, let’s discover the Côte d’Azur!

The Côte d’Azur is probably France’s most diverse holiday region, because it really has everything ready for your visitors, from sunbathing on the beach, hiking in the mountains and shopping opportunities to a wide range of cities. You can spend your family vacation on the Côte d’Azur in a family hotel or holiday resort, but because of the many interesting cities, a road trip is also popular with tourists. Let yourself be enchanted by the diversity of the south coast and discover something new every day. The more adventurous among you can even go to the Côte d’Azur for camping and spend an unforgettable holiday in nature! Young and old will create a lot of new memories in this family vacation!

Pompous cityscapes

The local cityscape is characterized by one thing in many cities of the Côte d’Azur: pure luxury! St. Tropez, Cannes or Nice are popular travel destinations for prominent holidaymakers. The cities therefore consist of cultural and historical insights into the past of France as well as insights into luxury and the world of celebrities. Stroll past elaborate shop window installations of major brands or marvel at the yachts of the super rich at the harbor.

St. Tropez can almost be described as the center of the Côte d’Azur and is known as a chic harbor town. Stroll through the place and with a little luck you can find one or the other known person. There is also a lot to do for the kids on the Côte d’Azur. The Azur Park is located in the middle of St. Tropez. The amusement park does not cost admission and is the ideal destination for a vacation with children. Fun awaits young and old, for example on a white water rink, a ferris wheel and a variety of other rides. When the sun goes down, the park shines in many bright lights!

Cannes and Nice are also lively cities on the Côte d’Azur! The Cannes Film Festival is held every spring in Cannes. At this time, the celebrity rate rises again massively and the whole city goes crazy! Nice is in no way inferior to the other cities and inspires with a perfect combination of beach and culture. From the castle hill Colline du Château you can see the city from above and admire the vastness of the deep blue sea. Back in the city center, you should definitely visit one of France’s most beautiful flower and street markets, the Marché aux Fleurs Cours Saleya. Relaxed moments can be found on a family holiday on the Côte d’Azur, but especially in the port areas of the cities. After a walk along the sea, there are plenty of bars; Restaurants and bars that invite you for a drink and a good meal!

High society

If the magnificence of the small French cities is not enough, it is not far to the Principality of Monaco. The Principality is an independent city-state on the Côte d’Azur and is close to the Italian border. Here, too, you can stroll and observe on a day trip or visit the local architecture, such as Prince’s Palace. The changing of the guard is a spectacle worth seeing! The most famous district in Monaco is Monte Carlo, where gambling and car racing are on the agenda.

Enjoy beach days

After the Côte d’Azur has welcomed you with a colorful mix of different impressions, a beach day is just the thing. The Mediterranean coast offers a variety of different beaches that provide an ideal setting for a relaxing family holiday. Not far from St. Tropez you will find the Plage de Pampelonne beach, which with its finest sandy beach and crystal-clear water offers everything you could want on vacation. Beach bars complete the offer! Another great sandy beach is the Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes, great bathing experiences await the whole family as well as a waterfront promenade and the port of Canto. A particularly child-friendly beach can be found in Antibes. The city has many beautiful stretches of beach, but the Plage de la Gravette is particularly suitable for you and your kids. Thanks to the artificially piled up rocks, there are no major waves here, which means that your offspring can splash around in the water with ease. If, on the other hand, you have chosen Nice for your family holiday on the Côte d’Azur, a visit to Paloma Beach is always a good idea. In addition to a white sandy beach and clear sea water, you may also discover a prominent personality! In any case, it is certain that the Côte d’Azur is perfect for a beach holiday!

Nature and culture

You can take an exciting eight kilometer hike along the coast from the municipality of La Londe to Fort de Brégançon. This leads you along the beach, along small rocky outcrops and short green sections. In between you always have the opportunity to jump into the water! Exploring the Côte d’Azur in this way is definitely a good thing to do while you are on vacation with your children. An exciting adventure that the little ones will tell you about for a long time! It gets more strenuous at a Hike over a 267 meter high pass in the mountains. The so-called Col du Canadel offers you unique insights into nature and offers an excellent view of the sea. Those who prefer to discover forests and gardens will get a breathtaking experience in the Domaine du Rayol nature reserve. Here you can not only discover nature on land, but also explore the sea path underwater with snorkels and fins. If you want to get to know local and historical places better, you should make a detour to Bormes-les-Mimosas, a beautiful, almost untouched place that still shows its historical roots today. Old remains of Roman culture can also be found in Frejus, where there was once a Roman settlement, which is still in excellent condition to this day. The remains of the aqueduct, a water pipe, and the amphitheater still shape the cityscape today. If you go on holiday to the Côte d’Azur with children, you will find a suitable activity for every age and taste!

Water fun for young and old

The Marineland water amusement park in Antibes is an attraction especially for families. The park consists of different areas and has all kinds of slides in different colors and shapes. You will be guaranteed colorful water fun here! In addition to bathing fun in the cool water, the park also offers shows with orcas and dolphins – a real highlight, especially for the little ones!
