So you can have your dessert, for example relaxed Enjoy during the sunset: the vacation couldn’t be better!

Cultural highlights

You can gain insights into the historical island life, especially in Ibiza’s capital, Ibiza Town. The cityscape is characterized by the old defensive wall and the old town of Dalt Vila, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll through the quaint little streets of the old town and take a break in one of the many restaurants in the area. Ice cream is waiting for children on almost every corner in Ibiza – if that’s not perfect! The old town is also home to the Cathedral of Santa Maria De Las Nieves, which towers over the island’s capital. The building itself and the bell tower are really impressive. The Cinema Paradiso, which shows current and popular films in an open-air location in the summer months in the old town on the fortress wall near the Plaza del Sol, ensures variety in the evening. Ibiza Town offers you even more cultural programs. You will go even further back in time in the dead city of Necropolis del Puig des Molins, where you can explore ancient grave sites. Of course, there are not only historical sights to be found in Ibiza Town. You can get modern impressions, for example, in the Museum of Contemporary Art.

You should not miss a trip to the small town of Santa Gertrudis during your family vacation in Ibiza. The small community is a little further inland and has cute restaurants, some bars and cafes as well as galleries and antique shops. For shopping you should visit the shop La Galería Elefante. The international community of the small town and its hippie flair make it a great destination. Another place that should appear in your vacation planning is the small fishing village of San Miguel, where you can spend a relaxing vacation with the children in beautiful surroundings. Since this is a popular family holiday destination in Ibiza, it is suitable for a children’s holiday and you will surely find an apartment or a club holiday here.

Experience something special in nature

In order to make the most of your time in nature on holiday with your children, you can choose from various day trips to Ibiza’s nature. A popular hiking route stretches along the coast. For a good view of the sea, the path around the lighthouse at Punta de’s Moscarter is worthwhile. Another nice hike that you can take with your children on vacation in Ibiza is the route to Torre de’s Savinar. The watchtower was used during the 18th century to protect itself from pirates. Today it is one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the island. On the route and from the tower you have a perfect view of the rocky island of Es Vedrà, around which a wide variety of stories and myths have grown. Es Vedrà is also a designated nature reserve and uninhabited. One of the island stories tells that it is the last visible part of Atlantis. Another beautiful excursion takes you to the highest mountain on the island. The Sal Talaia is 475 meters high and therefore ideal for an active hiking day with a picnic.

You can also start a day trip in Ibiza Town’s marina. After strolling along the marina and exploring, you can take the ferry to Formentera from here. You can explore Formentera very well by bike and head for the island’s many pristine beaches. Here are some of the most beautiful beaches in the entire Mediterranean. For this reason, the island exudes a very individual flair.

Enjoy the sea air

Beach holidays are of course in the foreground in Ibiza. There are many shallow sections by the sea and in the bays children are also somewhat protected from the waves of the Mediterranean. Las Salinas beach is about ten minutes from Ibiza town. In the summer months, a bus runs between Las Salinas and Ibiza Town, so you don’t need a rental car to get to the popular beach. The Niu Blau beach, located between Santa Eularia and Es Cana, is equally popular. Anyone who has always wanted to go on a banana boat can experience this here. For the smaller kids, on the other hand, a pedal boat tour is certainly very fun.

The beach of Cala Conta in Ibiza is also suitable for a holiday with children, because lifeguards have everything in view and toilets, bars and restaurants can be found quickly. The water is really pleasant, you can enjoy the view of a small island in front of the beach and you can do excellent snorkeling. The sandy beach is said to be one of the most beautiful in Ibiza! A similar environment awaits you on the beach of Cala Vadella and the fact that the beach slopes gently into the water makes it ideal for children’s holidays in Ibiza. If you would also like to relax on a natural beach that can score with its landscape, you will find it near San Juan. Here is the beach of Cala Xarraca. The beach is relatively small and pebbled, but offers you a colorful underwater world, because you can watch many colorful fish while snorkeling. The highlight on the beach is the natural mud bath on the left side of the bay. The mud is said to have healing properties and definitely makes the beach special.

Excursion destinations for the whole family

If you are not currently spending your family vacation in San Miguel, should You at least take a trip to the region. Not only because the small fishing village in Ibiza is beautiful in itself, but also because you can watch folklore dances here and immerse yourself in the traditions of the islanders. You will also find the Cova de Can Marca, a stalactite cave that is said to be around 100,000 years old. Your children will certainly feel like little adventurers and explorers here, and at the same time a visit to the caves can help you cool off.

The Cap Blanc Aquarium in Sant Antoni de Portmany is a child-friendly destination. Your children will be thrilled because the aquarium is located in a natural cave and this alone creates a unique atmosphere. You spend time in the fresh air and can simultaneously boost your adrenaline level on a variety of slides. No matter whether it is a foam slide or a spiral slide, you will find the right one for young and old! Children’s and baby pools as well as restaurants, cafés and picnic areas round off the facilities on offer and ensure an unforgettable vacation day in Ibiza. A bus runs several times a day between the park and Ibiza Town, so you don’t have to worry about anything on a family vacation!

A great evening excursion destination is one of the hippie markets in Ibiza. The Las Dalias hippy market is a night market and starts in the early evening. Here you can stroll past stands with jewelry and fashion. Live music also creates a mood! At the weekend, the market also takes place during the day and, in addition to sufficient stalls for browsing and trading, also offers food and drinks. A family vacation in Ibiza never gets boring!
