Experience historical tradition

The state of Saxony-Anhalt is particularly characterized by a great historical tradition – so it is hardly surprising that there are numerous historical sights to visit here. A big historical attraction is that "sky disc", which was discovered at Nebra in 1999. It is the oldest moving and second oldest known representation of the sky. To complete the historical-cultural program, a visit to Lutherstadt Wittenberg should not be missed. Visit the castle church, on the door of which Martin Luther once posted his 95 theses.

Here it becomes fairytale!

The city of Dessau, which has now merged with Rosslau and thus bears the name Dessau-Rosslau, is also astonishing. Here you and the children will find several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These include the Rococo ensemble around the Mosigkau Palace and Park and Georgium Palace with the Georgengarten. Here the children can feel like real highnesses!

At Wernigerode Castle you will definitely feel fairytale. The castle was once a medieval castle, after several destruction it was lovingly rebuilt. Today there is a museum in the walls.

Off to the mountains!

You can also spend a child-friendly holiday in the Harz Mountains. Shrouded in many legends and legends, this low mountain range spans parts of Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia and Lower Saxony. The city of Quedlinburg is also extremely worth seeing, which you can discover on a short vacation in Saxony-Anhalt, for example. First mentioned in a document in 922, the city can today boast of being one of the largest area monuments in Germany – Quedlinburg’s architectural heritage was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. Stroll through the winding, cobbled streets of the old town and be impressed by the approximately 2,000 half-timbered houses from three centuries.
