Flying cars won’t be around until 2077

the new york times has a nice visualization in the form of a timeline about the history and future of our lives with computers. We will have cash until 2056, when it will become illegal, and a year later the robot wars will take place, but everything will be fine: twenty years after the robot wars, there will finally be flying cars!

the exciting thing about the project: readers can make predictions and other readers can help determine the correct timing for the prediction. If you want the robot wars to start earlier, just click on "5 years earlier". Great idea and execution. By the way, the universal translator for real-time communication will be here in ten years.

facebook news for dpa the disinformation problem of meta becomes business

deutsche presse-agentur curates german news for facebook from april onwards. There will be a close economic connection between two corporations that are gatekeepers for the media. This is anything but unproblematic. A comment.

NPP 245 – net-political interim balance "it’s all broken"

This week we take a snapshot in the podcast. We asked some friends of the show what they are thinking about right now. It’s all about telegram, public IT infrastructure and EU policy.

Media freedom act EU commission wants transparency in state funding for media

A new EU law aims to strengthen independent media: the media freedom act. The EU commission has now revealed for the first time which priorities it has in this regard. In the visier stands the media politics in states like hungary and poland – in addition, Austria.

Very often I am glad about the finiteness of my life. I have caught a good time. The future will be a horror trip that I do not want to experience and hopefully will not experience. I can only be grateful. For the future generations I have fullest pity and sympathy. They did not have the grace of early (!) birth.

Caught teh conservative ;)

Well, I would date flying cars 100 years further back :D (of course, I could be wrong, and if anti-gravity is also meant here, how about 2980? ?)

Otherwise quite nice :D

How will it be with the traffic rules?? Soon every car will fly into the next window? Is one then only safe under the earth? People will bunker down? But this is not possible everywhere, because the nuclear waste must also be disposed of somewhere. Below ditto. Brave new world? Soon only underground life? Above anyway all dead because of nuclear accidents, wars and environmental contamination?

As written, a real horror. God be damned, I will not live to see it.

Nonsense. We already have automatic distance detection. In 100 years it will simply not be possible to collide anymore.

I expect cash to disappear much sooner, respectively. There are chips coming in the bills to track the way.

Flying cars means then probably tin snakes in the air, and finally space for cyclists .. pedestrians on the street?
And if it didn’t work again, one will fall from the sky, no matter where you stand, and because that happens so often, we all run around with a big gallic shield over our heads?

There are already flying cars. The hot planes.

airplanes fly in 10 to 20 KM height. Cars too? Laughingstock? That will not happen. Not even in a hundred years. Hopefully not, considering what assholes are already doing to the ground with their cars!

The question is flying cars, will they still be controlled manually?? I think not :D

I am astonished that nowhere cold fusion appears. And unfortunately the suggestions are closed in the meantime, otherwise I would add it.

Typical, by the way, that in the sense of a surveillance state some things appear in it that are the wet dream of domestic politicians (monitor everyone and everything).

… And in 50 or 100 years, people will laugh heartily at these visions of the future and shake their heads at our naive and completely wrong ideas of the future.

Because notice:
and first it comes differently and secondly than one thinks. ;-)

That could be, but in contrast to people who lived a hundred years ago, the future generations have rather the prospect of a messed up planet, misery through economic crises, nuclear wars, nuclear power (today already had fish from Japan)??) and the climate change (although I am not an eco, but know that climate on earth was never static, with or without us). No, I don’t want to live then. I am already busy enough with this today. No one needs flying cars either. But unfortunately we already have so much that we don’t need at all. :-)

It’s all here already: http://de.Futuramapedia.Net/index.Php?title=futuramapedia ;) i’m more interested in how humans evolve in their being, less in technology.

Universal translators in 10 years? Only monolingual people can come up with something like this. but i am also looking forward to the software that replaces lawyers. (in two years)

I play shadowrun and it is sometimes frightening how the scenarios there overlap with the real world:
cyberimplants, corporations as legally own countries, etc.
Accordingly, next year comes first of all the awakening of the magic ;)

This year, on 24.12. The kite is coming.

The world goes but only 2012 "under".
So only next year the awakening :)

With roland emmerich maybe, but with shadowrun the fifth world of the maya calendar ends on the 24th. December 2011.

we already have the robot wars now, only with the difference that the robots choose human targets and 10.000 km away someone pushes the button. the job of the button pusher will be eliminated by the year 2056.
Human greed, coupled with the expansion of the weapons industry (with the churches as major shareholders) will ensure that humanity does not reach the 8.5 billion threshold. Especially since from the arsenals of the bioweapons industry there are certainly still some products escaping, with whose antidotes great business can be done, if the analog and digital war machines should not be in demand in the short term.

In the EU, 40 (!) new nuclear power plants are planned or already under construction. This much is said about the german nuclear phase-out and the future of the youth in europe, which is supposed to be so great. Flying cars?? Flying debris is more like it.

Radiant is what you call it.

(in former times one had a beaming laugh, but that was just another time)

2077 only? Then I am already a pensioner. But well, since I then presumably about cyborg implants, an artificial heart with a guaranteed life of 150 years (GS, CE and TuV tested!) and laser eyes available, I can make in my flying sports car again on bachelor ;)

But all joking aside, the developments, especially in the field of automobiles, are really remarkable. I just read another article (http://blog.Directline.en/the-car-of-the-future-is-mobile-social-and-local/) … from digital parking space displays to weather forecasts, internet telephony, voice control a la siri, facebook connect and the so-called "head up display". So if I give my car by voice commands and these are then processed on my windshield is already a bit star trek like!

My prediction. We are already flying a few years earlier ;)

I would be happy if they would be cheaper and vk so really many flying cars there I would do well 2077 is too late because that would not be a good moment because you would be old would make me happy sooner
