DEMedic is an app for patients that provides information about the current dental emergency service and the pharmacy emergency service. With one click, patients receive real-time information about the respective emergency service as a list or in a map view.

In addition, the app calculates the shortest route to the dentist or emergency pharmacy and provides the patient with an integrated navigation system by car or public transport.

DEMedic was developed by Accentive Heidelberg from Bruchsal (Baden) in cooperation with the North Rhine Dental Association and the North Rhine Pharmacy Chamber.

The Zahnärztekammer Nordrhein and the KZV Nordrhein endeavor to offer you the best possible service when looking for emergency services.

Do you have a technical problem when searching for emergency services? Then you can let us know at notdienst (at) zaek-nr.de. Please indicate which malfunction is involved (Internet search or telephone information). In order to solve the problem as quickly as possible, we also need as much of the following information as possible:

  • Date and time of the search query
  • The city or zip code you searched for
  • Computer operating system and browser used (name (s) and version (s))
  • for telephone: from which device was the call made (landline / area code or cell phone / network or telephone booth / location)?

QR code sticker for emergency service for practice

The sticker with the QR code for the dental emergency service in North Rhine-Westphalia is intended for patients with smartphones who are faced with a closed practice in the event of acute emergencies because they lack information about the opening times or the offices on duty.

Patients can scan the QR code attached to the practice sign, window or entrance door using their smartphone. If there is an existing connection to the mobile Internet, you will be immediately forwarded to the emergency service search on the website of the North Rhine Dental Association. This emergency service search is optimized for mobile browsers.

Members of the ZÄK North Rhine can order the transparent sticker with the QR code for the dental emergency service free of charge. Simply send an email including the practice address to [email protected]

If you have any questions about your statutory patient rights – in particular the Patient Rights Act – you can contact the Legal Department of the Dental Association of North Rhine in writing, by email or by telephone.

Please note that the North Rhine Dental Association cannot assist in enforcing or defending against claims. Legal advice would be required for this.

General dispute settlement

In the event of other disputes arising from the treatment relationship, in particular regarding the behavior of a dentist or communication problems, you can contact the North Rhine Dental Association in writing, by email or by telephone.

Dental fees

Complaints and inquiries from patients regarding dental fee claims and dental fee law are dealt with by the Fee Law unit at the North Rhine Dental Association. You can submit your request there in writing, by email or by telephone. However, a general review of fee claims is not possible by the North Rhine Dental Association.

Appointment of dental experts

If you need a dental expert, the North Rhine Dental Association can name one for you. For this purpose, a directory of dental experts for the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber is kept. The Board of Directors selects the experts on the basis of the qualifications demonstrated by the respective dentists. Appropriate inquiries are answered by the expert report department.

Assessment of dental treatment errors

If you suspect a dental treatment error, an objective assessment of the dental treatment at issue can be carried out by the Dental Association of North Rhine to enable the parties involved to reach an amicable settlement. The procedure is therefore carried out as a special dispute settlement procedure.

Please note, however, that the examination only extends to dental treatment errors and that the North Rhine Dental Association cannot evaluate any errors in clarification and other liability requirements. A decision about any claims for damages and compensation for pain and suffering is also not made; this is reserved for judicial proceedings.

Furthermore, no review is possible if legal proceedings or a public prosecutor’s investigation is already pending or if a court decision has already been issued. If there is also an expert opinion, we suggest that an amicable settlement be reached, contact the dentist treating you and discuss possible solutions.

Please also check in advance whether, in your case, the independent expert procedures in statutory health insurance may be responsible for checking suspected defects in prosthetic services. You can clarify this with your health insurance company.
