Car shows are having an increasingly difficult time: the visitor numbers decline, and not all car manufacturers want to exhibit there anymore, but prefer to look for other ways to get customers.

Here are the most important car innovations
Audi wanted fourth generation of the A3 show, which will be launched only as a five-door sportback and later as a notchback sedan. The three-door model was canceled. Visually, the compact car does not fall out of the usual audi grid. The sport models also produce 294 kW/400 hp from 2.5 liters of displacement audi RS Q3 and RS Q3 sportback – that’s 17 percent more power than before. If desired, the top speed can be limited to 280 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 4.5 seconds.
In addition, there will be a particularly sporty variant of the electric e-tron quattro. Audi e-tron S and e-tron sportback S with three electric motors have a total output of up to 370 kW/503 hp and are expected to reach 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
The four-door electric coupe BMW i4 concept would have been the highlight on the BMW stand. The car’s name indicates that it is not yet the final version of the i4, but the production car is unlikely to be much different in terms of looks and technology. The i4 is designed to compete with Tesla: with over 500 hp, 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4 seconds, a top speed of over 200 km/h and a range of 600 kilometers according to WLTP measurements. BMW promises a purely electric range of up to 57 kilometers for the plug-in hybrid variants BMW X1 xdrive 25e and X2 xdrive 25e. A system output of 220 hp enables rapid acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than seven seconds. Both cars run entirely without an internal combustion engine up to 135 km/h, after which the 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine joins them. Price: from 45.650 euros. There will also be an additional hybrid version of the BMW 3 Series.
DS automobiles
The luxurious DS brand was the only representative of the PSA Group to present itself in Geneva. And would have brought a luxurious notchback sedan as a new flagship, which with a length of 4.93 meters is oriented to the audi A6, mercedes E-class and BMW 5 series. The DS 9 is said to be particularly comfortable to drive and is powered, among other things, by a plug-in hybrid with 165 kW/225 hp system output. Pure electric range: 40 to 50 kilometers. Behind the somewhat awkward name DS aero sport lounge concept hides a study to show the future design of the brand. This looks quite futuristic and expressive and relies on edges instead of curves. Both vehicles are powered by a 500 kW/680 hp electric motor and a 110 kWh battery with a range of 650 kilometers.
From the 3.41 meter short electro-minimalist e.Go life now has further offshoots: in addition to the concept car, the e.Go life cross, which is to be launched in a limited small series in 2021, will be joined by the life sport as a near-production vehicle. The cross is a variant with distinctive SUV accents such as chunky wheels, wheel arch extensions, underride protection and additional headlights. With 72 kW/98 hp, it has more power than the current top model life 60 with 57 kW/77 hp and also a larger battery. The price has not yet been fixed. The same applies to the 80 kW/109 hp e.Go life sport, which comes with 17-inch light-alloy wheels, sports suspension and sports seats.

Fisker

Hyundai
The completely new hyundai i20 aims to bring more variety to the segment of opel corsa, VW polo and toyota yaris with an expressive look. In addition to more space thanks to a larger wheelbase, it will also offer significantly more comfort and safety. A conventional 4-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine (62 kW/84 hp) and two three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engines are available as powertrains. The more powerful 88 kW (120 hp) version has a 48-volt mild hybrid system.
Also the revised golf competitor hyundai i30 coming soon to dealers. The front end in particular has been redesigned, and the engine range is also being renovated. Among other things, there is a new entry-level gasoline engine with 81 kW/110 hp and economical hybrid versions with 48-volt technology. Lexus
Toyota’s classy lexus subsidiary had planned three european premieres. The luxury coupe LC500 will be a cabrio variant with a price tag of well over 100 euros.000 euros and powerful engines (up to 464 hp), the focus is on exclusivity. Much more down-to-earth is the first purely electric lexus, which UX 300e. The compact SUV competes with the kia e-niro and the peugeot e-2008 and is said to be able to travel around 400 kilometers.
How lexus envisions electric cars in the future is shown by the brand with the LF-30 electrified concept, futuristic coupe designed to provide driving pleasure. The sedan ES now follows the audi e-tron and the honda e in relying on camera exterior mirrors.
Mazda
Mazda wanted to present its 100. celebrating its 50th birthday with some historic models at the stand and at the same time with the new mazda MX-30 look into the not too distant future. Pininfarina

Polestar

Renault also plans to launch a purely electric version of the twingo. The twingo Z.E. Based on the electric smart EQ, but blessed with a slightly longer range. With a battery capacity of 21 kWh, the french car will be able to drive 180 kilometers in the WLTP cycle; for city driving only, Renault even specifies up to 250 kilometers. The 60 kW/82 hp electric motor accelerates the electric twingo to 100 km/h in 12.6 seconds, with a top speed of 135 km/h. With a charging capacity of up to 22 kW, the battery is expected to be 80 percent full in around one hour. renault has set the launch date for the turn of the year 2020/21.
The French are also going all out for hybrid technology. The best-selling captur and megane rolling into showrooms as plug-in hybrids. The highlight from spain is the new seat leon. The visually pleasing body has become larger and should therefore offer more space than before. The engine range is largely identical to that of the VW golf 8 and offers a broad spectrum of petrol, diesel, hybrid models and a natural gas version with outputs ranging from 110 to 204 hp. The sporty variant is the cupra leon, to be presented as a plug-in hybrid.
Škoda
Even though škoda’s first purely electric SUV is already busy doing test laps and is about to go into production, the Czechs want to show the "enyaq" to the public mentioned model unfortunately not yet. Instead, the VW subsidiary is concentrating on the new ID hybrid octavia, is based primarily on its powerful and, to date, very popular RS version. The special feature: the 245-hp sporty offshoot of the family car will be offered exclusively as a plug-in hybrid and will therefore not only be able to sprint, but also save energy.
Toyota
After toyota has presented the economical hybrid version of the yaris, now comes the opposite pole: the sport version named toyota GR yaris, which demonstrates its potency already by its powerful front with large air intake. With a 192 kW/261 hp three-cylinder turbo engine, it is the most powerful yaris of all time. All-wheel drive is standard on the little racer. Production start is in the second half of 2020, a price is not yet known.
The first small car SUV from toyota, which will be positioned below the C-HR and compete with the VW T-cross, ford puma and skoda kamiq. toyota has not yet announced a name, and the manufacturer has not yet released any data or pictures.

The VW golf is getting new offshoots, specifically the more specialized variants GTI, GTD and GTE. The tradition-steeped golf GTI comes with a 245-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, which is just as powerful as the new GTE. As a plug-in hybrid, however, it generates its 245 hp system output from a combination of a 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and an electric motor. With its 13 kWh battery, the GTE is said to be able to drive around 60 kilometers purely on electricity. The GTD has an output of 200 hp and is the sporty top of the diesel range. With two SCR cats connected in series, the sporty compression ignition engine is said to be particularly clean. All three variants have the continuous strip of light between the front headlights in common.
The VW touareg R will be a power version with a system output of 340 kW/462 hp to complement the model range. The 2.5-ton plug-in hybrid is expected to sprint to 100 km/h in around five seconds and reach a maximum of 250 km/h. The rear of the touareg R houses a 14.1-kwh battery that allows purely electric driving for up to 48 kilometers at 140 km/h.
