The kitchen in the parish hall of Heilig Geist was getting a bit long in the tooth and cupboards and appliances hadn’t been able to be fully used for some time.
Without further ado, a small group of parishioners committed themselves to removing countless components from the no longer used teaching kitchen in St. Mariae Birth on the church hill, transporting them away and then integrating them into the old kitchen in the parish hall Heilig Geist on Zeppelinstr. The project did not only include the expansion and scrapping the old Elements, but also a complex adjustment and installation in the premises in the community center in the Mülheim-Holthausen district.

Today she offers

large granite work and storage areas
a powerful hood
a modern tailored graphite sink
a professional high-performance dishwasher, as well
full-height wall cabinets.

At the general meeting of the Heilig Geist Association on Sunday, December 9, 2018, the participants unanimously decided that the association would not be able to bear the running costs for the Heilig Geist church building. An amendment to the statutes was also unanimously rejected by the members.

For many years, the administration of the parish has unfortunately not been able to determine reliable consumption for gas, water and / or electricity in the church building. Nonetheless, the plans outlined in the PEP for continuing to operate the church building (Tabgha & Ecumenism), within a few weeks, as not feasible. It is currently still being examined whether the installation of a photovoltaic system on the roofs of the church building and the parish hall can possibly cover part of the operating costs.

The currently declining donation volume in the association presents him new Challenges. Despite the necessary savings measures on the part of the association, there are no permanent savings in the support of the Heilig Geist library or the youth autumn leisure time.

The board of the association was exonerated at the end of the meeting and unanimously elected by the participants in today’s line-up.
