Helping people to help themselves: USED COMPUTER COLLECTION PROMOTION

After the first successful toy collection campaign at the beginning of the year, we are now launching one new call.

For a school in Ghana, we ask for donations in the form of: used PC computers and monitors, such as laptops.

The Local Authority School and the attached kindergarten are located in Kitase, a small town, 22 km from Accra, the capital of Ghana, in West Africa.

The school and kindergarten were founded in 1993. As is common in most developing countries, state schools are poorly equipped and teachers are underpaid. So also the school and kindergarten in Kitase.

To change this and help children in school, we need your support.

We ask not for money, but only for the donations in kind listed.

We are not a foundation, an association or any other non-profit organization, but only privately people who want to help people with small means.

We thank you in advance and hope for numerous support!

Thank you very much

On behalf of the Children’s Aid Kitase Project, we would like to thank everyone who supported our 2016/2017 toy collection campaign!

The campaign was a complete success! The whole school and especially the children were very happy when we were able to hand over the collected toys.

The handover of the toys was accompanied by a small festival, at which songs were sung and short lectures were given. Many people were invited to the village head, as well as local politicians.

It was a wonderful day that made it clear to us that you can achieve a lot even with little resources.

The children and us as a child care kitase say THANK YOU!

Our next campaign is already in the starting blocks and will be announced on our website shortly. – Again we hope for numerous support!

Successful handover in Ghana! Thanks to all involved!

Report will follow shortly.

Kitase is a small village, 25 km northeast of Accra, the capital of Ghana, with about 5-6 thousand inhabitants.

The School and the kindergarten was founded in 1993. As is common in most developing countries, state schools are poorly equipped and teachers are underpaid. So also the school and kindergarten in Kitase.

When my son and I went to school in the spring of this year, we were shocked and speechless about the circumstances in which the students should learn. However, the conditions in which the children were cared for in the connected kindergarten were worse. The kindergarten includes 54 children with four teachers. The children were bored, quiet, some cried. When we asked why the children were crying, the answer was that they had no toys to play with and therefore, as a job opportunity, they were forced to learn to read and write. If you consider that they are kindergarten children, it is not surprising that the little ones are of course completely overwhelmed with it.

We asked the headmistress, Ms. Helina Owusu Danson, in what form she needs help. She told us that the children would want nothing more than to play with real toys. It would also be important for school students to learn how to use a computer.

Education is the be-all and end-all! Therefore, we have to help children in developing and emerging countries around the world!

So we ask all helpful and interested people to help support this kindergarten and the school in Kitase, Ghana, and to bring a little joy into the lives of the children.

Anyone can help make the world a little bit better and avoid future problems.

We thank you and hope for numerous support!
