Surroundings of the Tuffalm

The Tuffalm is near the Völser Weihers below the Schlern. The quaint alp is due to its idyllic location, its delicious culinary specialties and the incomparably warm hospitality a popular destination for hikers and connoisseurs. The Alm is the ideal place to forget time. You immerse yourself in the heavenly nature and enjoy the view over the extensive meadow plateau. It is not without reason that the readers of the daily newspaper Dolomites became the Tuffalm “Most beautiful South Tyrolean Alm 2007” chosen.
The pasture is from Easter to the end of January daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. open without a day off. You can go every Thursday from May to late October Live music enjoy.
You can also stop here to have a little break for further hikes throughout Sciliar Nature Park. There are many alpine pastures, hiking trails and magical places to explore in the area! So go on a search for the stories, traditions and mysterious sagas that the Sciliar area hides.

Boredom never happens at the Tuffalm! You can spend a few quiet hours on our sunny terrace, or let yourself be pampered by our warm service while on the children a petting zoo and a playground are waiting. On hot days you can do it in about half an hour Völser pond reach and cool off there. Or do you want to continue your hike and further explore the Sciliar area? Then use the Tuffalm as a stopover for your excursion to fortify yourself with the delicious, homemade dishes. Many other hiking routes lead from the Tuffalm through the magical mountains. Follow the path to "Migghöhle", where hermit Franz Migg once lived in the 19th century. You can also take a path direction “Hoferalpl, Schlern” follow and marvel at a great view. But come to us and experience it with your own eyes!

Arrive

parking spot

You can easily reach the parking lot near the Völser Weiher by car. From Fiè allo Sciliar you drive by car towards Seis. After about a kilometer you will see a sign with “Völser Weiher” that will lead you to the parking lot at the lake. This is the ideal starting point for an easy and cozy family hike.

On foot

The Tuffalm can be reached on foot from the Völser Weiher on hiking trail no. 1 (walking time 45 minutes) or via the forest road, which is easy for older people, toddlers and families with children.
From Völs you can reach the Tuffalm in 1 hour 15 minutes, from Seis you can reach the Alm in 2 hours and from Castelrotto in 2 hours 30 minutes.

With the carriage

Our horse-drawn carriage is particularly popular with children and the elderly. The carriage is available daily until October 15th at the Völser Weiher car park for a romantic ride to the Tuffalm.
