The traditional hotel above the Jetties in the quarter of St. Pauli has visitors with its maritime flair and unique views of the Harbor and the River Elbe for nearly 40 years. Its 380 rooms – furnished either in a classically Hanseatic fashion or in a modern and elegant style – offer maximum comfort and all amenities of a four-star hotel.
The family-run private hotel is looking back upon a diverse history. It first served as a sailor’s hostel in the 19th century and later, among others, as a navy training location. Even now, the classicist building is a treasure trove of Hanseatic sailors’ history. You can see many old collector’s items throughout the building and ever yourself in the history of Hamburg and seafaring. The hotel’s gastronomy offer is brimming with North German charisma. Enjoy Hamburg classics at the Restaurant Port in front of the harbor, try burgers inspired by the Hansa in the comfortable Harbor Diner or treat yourself to a cool beer at the true sailors’ ambience in Willi’s Bierstube.

A marvelous gesture from the young lady who checked us in. It would have to be an external lift for those who like us Sling station with heavy luggage. We carry our cases up the steps!
We loved the antique artifacts at the Royal Navy Navigation School, Portsmouth, England … the city where I was born. If ever you were no longer using this truck, I would be happy to buy it from the hotel.
The Linden Covered Terrace and Service, Location and Views were excellent. Greek waiter what charming.
