If these names are embarrassing, yahoo answers

I’ve been happily forgiven for a while and later want to have children with my partner. the way we are girls most of the time, we think about the names beforehand. i have a few ideas here – but i’m not sure if i can easily call my child later?

so please come here with your opinions ;-)

1. summer (my favorite season)

As you may have noticed, I don’t really like traditional German names. ;-)

embarrassing in that other children tease my daughter: "haha you were named after a season" or something like that. the stupid thing would be with the last name, which starts with s for both of us and the child then e.g. must write his initials and then "S, S." would come out. I know I’m thinking too much

I personally find all three guti.

But what I’m wondering, why are you thinking about what others think about it?

If children want to tease, they will always find something.

You can always convey the necessary self-esteem to your children. finally you give your child the name because it has a special meaning, just like your child.

these names can be embarrassing if they don’t match the last name

that’s not a problem, as long as the last name fits and is different than Meier Müller Schulze or Lehmann, just something like that!

In my opinion, first name and last name should harmonize!

Otherwise they are nice names

Why should they be embarrassed? They’re just not that common with us.

If you like the name, it also fits your child in a way. I think that the first and last name should harmonize, but that is easier said than done if you have the (nice) name Niederhuberl, for example. I would take care of that when naming respect, think highly of, that he is not exactly a genital or similar in other languages. designated.

If children want to tease other children, they do it anyway. If the name is not suitable for that, you just take the hairstyle. However, I just remember that Swabian family told me that the m.E. beautiful name "Astrid" with them like "Kick in the buttocks" sounds.

A few more things you might think of:

1. Do you like the name when it means an 80-year-old lady? After all, everyone grows up.

2. How far is the naming subject to current fashion? I noticed that in the former GDR 30 years ago, it was pretty hip to give English names to his children. That is not to say that you rigorously oppose it and the youngsters are then called Bernulf or Trude, just that you think about it.

3. I would choose a name that does not have to be laboriously spelled out for all the formalities (offices, fictitious university exhibition, etc.), which may also be well understood and pronounced internationally.

4. There are certain speech melodies. For example, for a one-syllable last name, I would choose a three-syllable first name.

5. If a name is a specific one importance has, such as Summer or Andreas (the male), to what extent could this fit different characters? If I had a child who was more of a misanthropic loner, the name would be "buzzer", "Joy", Felix (the lucky one) doesn’t fit so well. If it gets as stupid as straw, it is better not to be baptized Sophia (the wisdom lover) or Socrates.

So, my post got a little longer, which is because I have been thinking about the topic for a while (even though I’m not a girl).

Greetings and finally: I think your suggestions are all very pretty, I think Summer is my favorite. However, you would then need a second, gender-determining first name, as far as I know.
