My education to the dental assistant

When I got the commitment

for training as a dental assistant, I was really happy. The training position in the dental practice offered me the opportunity to realize my long-cherished professional dream in an extremely sought-after job. I had applied for the training position in the dental practice after my graduation, because in my opinion the so-called “dental assistant” is a looking job.

Already at the secondary school

I was very interested in the science subjects. Especially when in class – for example in experiments – also practical skills were needed or when it came to topics such as nutrition. In addition, I liked the handling of different people at the training center. When patients are afraid of treatment, you have to be very empathetic. Especially with children then often a lot of tact is required. Fortunately, I have been able to help everyone so far.

The professional use of technical equipment on the other hand, as well as demanding laboratory work and the handling of medicines, medicines and other chemicals make the work as a dental assistant to a pretty future-oriented profession, which will always be needed despite all technology.

My job as a dental assistant

On the one hand, it’s about helping the dentist. This includes the preparation of the consulting room and the request of the patient or the patient. During the examination, I will write down data or submit instruments to the doctor. In addition, I touch the fillings and clean up everything after the treatment so that the next patient can be treated. But there are also dental tasks that I can do without the doctor. For example, I remove tartar on my own. It’s a great feeling to be happy with the patient because the teeth are spotless again.

A special challenge in this profession

but it is also the management of the organizational processes in practice, that is the care of the telephone, the arrangement of appointments, the preparation of invoices and the registration of the patients who appear for examination or treatment. Especially when unexpected emergencies come into practice, sometimes true organizational talent is required! That this is also an important part of the profession, I was not so aware before the training. Today, however, it is one of my favorite tasks.

I do not regret a day,

at that time decided to train as a dental assistant. I am thrilled that the activity as a fully trained dental assistant still gives me so much pleasure! Anyone who is enthusiastic about medicine, people and technology, I can really recommend the training position in the dental office.
