It is quite normal and yet special: it is quite normal for children to go to school – but it is particularly special when children have a school attendant at their side.
School attendants support and accompany pupils with disabilities in everyday life at a normal regular school. Whether during class, during school breaks, on excursions or school trips – the accompaniment always depends on the individual needs of the young person. Our companions can also be used in kindergartens.
in the senses The concept of inclusion in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is intended to enable children and young people with disabilities to lead an independent life and participate in the (class) community through school support and to introduce an inclusive education system. The school attendants provide intensive support in communicating with teachers and classmates.
Close contact with parents
The ASB Augsburg is the employment agency and thus the employer of the school attendants. We maintain close contact with parents, school attendants, the school, the sponsor and other institutions involved. We are happy to support you in all aspects of school accompaniment. We are at your side from the application to the search and employment of the school attendant until the pupil leaves the school.
In order to do justice to everyone involved, especially young people with disabilities, we strive to bring school leaders and pupils together individually. School attendants should be characterized by empathy, patience, reliability, flexibility and by mental and physical resilience. Experience in dealing with children and adolescents as well as previous educational knowledge are desirable.
Study and training support
As with school and kindergarten support in regular facilities, there is always the option of personal assistance when attending university courses or company training use and in many cases, this enables you to study or complete an apprenticeship. Even well-intentioned legal foundations are often more of an obstacle than a support in this area. So ask us – we will accompany you through the Mad forest, which should not prevent you from studying or training in a company.
