The management is exempt from group work.

Activities outside of group time

Every member of the staff is on a daily basis for early or midday duty within the roster. Due to the long opening hours of 49 hours a week, it is necessary to cover certain times of the day with shift work.

Preparation time is taken flexibly for specific projects (preparation for discussions with parents, employment, parent evenings, service meetings, project work, etc.)

Nicodemus Evangelical Kindergarten

The Nicodemus kindergarten is a facility with 5 groups in which mixed ages are looked after children from 3-10 years. There are also movement groups, early musical education, school childcare, mother-child gymnastics and flute lessons.

Procedures and deadlines

Registration for kindergarten is in the middle of January each year (ask about the dates in the facility promptly).

There is also a trial afternoon for all interested parents and children during this period. The kindergarten staff takes tours of the facility, explains the concept, answers all questions and offers play opportunities for the children. Registration of the child is also possible on this day.

The sponsor makes the decision about who gets a place with the kindergarten management, deputy and parents’ council. Siblings, children from the surrounding area and from the parish are preferred. Of course, age also plays a role.

After the written confirmation of place, there is an information appointment for all parents, where they can submit their documents received and experience the division into groups. The respective group then orders all children for a trial visit, which can also be repeated if necessary.

Parents are advised of the possibility of the youth welfare office assuming the costs at the registration meeting.

Having lunch

The kindergarten has a capacity of 100 lunches a day.

In order to cope with this number, the institution hired two domestic helpers, each 20 hours a week.

The main ingredients (e.g. meat, fish, side dishes) are delivered frozen by a company every two weeks and stored in freezers.

Salads, raw food and fruit are delivered fresh every week by the greengrocer and prepared by the domestic help. On the one hand, the menu should offer a balanced, varied diet, but also meet the wishes and preferences of the children.

If necessary, alternatives are planned for children of Muslim faith.

In the afternoon there is a fruit basket for all children.

Breakfast, snack

The employees of the individual groups value a healthy snack (bread, vegetables and fruit). Pre-packaged finished products that contain hardly any nutrients, that also contain a lot of sugar and that generate packaging waste are not welcome.

Everyone is welcome to bring something sweet as a dessert and of course it is allowed to bring a cake for a birthday.
