Kneipp in kindergarten – kindergarten st

Our kindergarten is a member of the Kneipp Association Weilheim-Pfaffenwinkel e.V. and a Kneipp kindergarten recognized by the Kneipp Association.

Our goal: healthy people

Live a healthy life in harmony with nature and actively prevent and find healing in this way. Pastor Sebastian Kneipp made this holistic approach over a century ago the basis of his comprehensive healing procedure – with success. "Guess and help each other!" He suggested to the people.

Implementation of the Kneipp teaching in kindergarten

The Kneipp teaching consists from five principles of action:

  • water
  • Move-
  • order of life
  • medicinal plants
  • nutrition

The sensible combination of these five areas is the success of Kneipp’s health education.

We live with the Children in everyday life these five principles of action. It is important to encourage the children and keep trying new things. Through the children, we also carry this awareness into the families. The well-being and well-being comes first.

We convey that Children having fun on exercise, important information about medicinal herbs, a healthy diet in everyday life, the positive effects of water stimulation and methods of a healthy lifestyle.

water

Sebastian Kneipp was given the nickname "water doctor" because he used it in a variety of ways: for castings, baths and wraps. Children can get used to the Kneipp water stimuli from six months.
We teach the children that water has healing properties. We bring the refreshing effect of a cold stimulus or the relaxing effect of the warm stimulus closer to the children through increasing foot baths in winter and cold showers in summer.

Move

From massage to recreational sports, this area includes everything that is good for you. The exercise program is tailored to personal inclinations, abilities and the respective condition. You regularly move in a way that is fun. Gymnastics, yoga, hiking or gymnastics are the areas that we cover in kindergarten because they challenge and relax people. Budding "Kneippian children" are encouraged in their urge to move and strive for freedom.

nutrition

A needs-based, wholesome, tasty, natural and balanced diet is an important prerequisite for well-being. It contributes to staying healthy and becoming healthy by promoting the body’s protective systems. Not only the composition of the dishes plays a role in this effect, but also the “putting together” at the table: joy, rest and time are just as much a part of a healthy meal as herbs and vegetables. We have fresh fruit and vegetables every day and a "healthy breakfast" once a week.

medicinal plants

Sebastian Kneipp kept large pieces on the plants and used them as bath additives, tinctures, ointments, teas and juices. The flora exerts a great fascination on children.
The knowledgeable handling of nature brings up a fine sense and a pronounced sense of responsibility for the environment and one’s own body.
We bring some of these plants closer to the children. You should get to know local plants and their benefits and plant them yourself. We have herb beds and prepare ointments, teas and oils with the children.
We also go on herbal walks with the children.

order of life

The requirements of life on the one hand and those that maintain health on the other hand in balance – this is how the area “order of life” could be reduced to a simplified short formula. Ideally, people live healthy and also strive for mental balance, stress tolerance and social competence. This also applies to children. They need an environment in which they can develop trust and get appropriate pats. Rituals are very important. This also includes the area of religious education.
Body, soul and mind should be able to develop as a whole.
Clear wording and clear boundaries. We impart safety, security and reliability to the children.
Kneipp children are active and full of joie de vivre – just healthy
