Make bath salt yourself with children – bath salt corner

Bath salt corner

Especially at Christmas time, a hot bathtub with homemade bath salts is wonderful for relaxing and switching off. But not only adults like this bath. Our children also like to relax in a hot bath.

The nice thing is, the little ones even have fun doing the bath salts themselves. And that’s not difficult at all. In this post I will show you how to make your own bath salt with your children. And this is what you will learn in this post:

What ingredients do I need for the bath salt?

Here I have shown you all the ingredients as a bullet list.

Overall, you don’t need a lot of ingredients. You can get most of it from DM or Rossmann. You only need a little sea salt, fragrance oil and food coloring.

Of course, you don’t have to buy mango fragrance oil. If you’d rather have a different fragrance, just buy a different fragrance oil. You can of course also change the food coloring in the same way.

How do I make bath salts myself with children?

Once you’ve bought all the ingredients, it’s time to prepare them. Bath salt is made very simply. Basically, the children can make the bath salt completely themselves. Explain what you have to do and stick with it so that nothing happens. And this is how the bath salt is prepared:

Always keep an eye on the children. The fragrance oil, baking powder and sea salt must not be swallowed.

  1. Put the sea salt in a bowl.
  2. Add a pinch of baking soda.
  3. Add 8 drops of fragrance oil.
  4. Add 4 drops of food coloring.
  5. Mix everything until everyone is colored.
  6. Cover the bowl.

Let the mixture steep in the covered bowl for a day.

And that’s it. The bath salt is ready.
