The Internet video portal You Tube has become an integral part of everyday life for young people. For this reason, there has recently been a growing demand to familiarize young people at school with the prudent use and provision of You Tube videos, and to raise their awareness of dangers and problems in this context. This can be done during lessons, in which You Tube is used as a medium in the classroom. This article gives examples of how to use You Tube as a medium in the classroom.

Many students now move around the Internet as if they were self-evident. They spend a lot of time in social networks like SchülerVZ. In addition to the many opportunities on the Internet, however, there is often cyber-bullying or the publication of data, images and videos that are not intended for everyone. Therefore, the young people need to be educated in the Internet privacy education. This video tutorial shows how such awareness can be created through collaborative writing processes on an Internet platform of the Education Media Center.
