A historic Mercedes-Benz O 3500 bus from the 1950s, which commutes between the Schlossplatz in Stuttgart and the museum, will ensure a stylish journey from 11 a.m. onwards. It brings visitors directly to the museum entrance and thus right into the action.
Here the guests are welcomed and entertained by Äffle and Pferdle, VfB-Fritzle, Moki, Breuni-Bär or Luftikus: It goes without saying that the popular mascots should not be missing on such a big children’s and family day. And what do the five giant balloons mean, which greet you from afar as a splash of colour? Those who pick up a stamp at every balloon station will receive a little surprise.
A special thrill.
Mobile Kids, the driving course for children in the open air, provides mobility fun.
The “Iron Schöckl” offers a special thrill with rides: the legendary Mercedes-Benz G-Class demonstrates its outstanding climbing abilities uphill and downhill on the layout. The name goes back to the G-Class’s core test track on the local mountain Schöckl near Graz, Austria, where the all-terrain classic is built. Historic and new fire engines will also be on display at the children’s and family day.
In addition, of course, there are the fascinating classics at the open-brand meeting “Cars & Coffee”. This event will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Museum every Sunday up to and including 8 September 2019.
Games for young and old are offered.

Sports skills at several stations.
Sporting dexterity is in demand at several stations – such as the popular tiger duck rodeo: Who keeps the longest on the wild tiger duck? The VfB Stuttgart organizes a goal wall shooting, in addition one can experience with the VR glasses in virtual reality a home game as a 360-degree tour. Mountain bikers meet on the “Pump Track”, a circuit with many challenges. The youngest can enjoy themselves with children’s slides on the racing course.
Musical entertainment is provided.
Those who are out of breath after so much activity can relax a little at various shows. “Viola loves Cycling”, “Mister Piano Show” (participation is allowed) and the “New York City Dance School” perform throughout the day in the atrium of the museum. The bands “Bent Bridges” and “Sonni Fäsh” will provide musical entertainment on the show stage of the radio station Antenne 1. The “Follow Me Marching Band” will be on the road all day long.
You can even get creative at the children’s and family day at the Genius workshops “Rocket Car” and “Electric Motor” as well as at the sand painting. Guided tours for all age groups also take place throughout the day through the permanent exhibition of the Mercedes-Benz Museum.
From 18 October 2019 to 19 April 2020 the special exhibition “40 Years of the G-Class” will take place.
