After your apprenticeship, you have a variety of options to work – in an urban kindergarten, with a family or even in the children’s ward in a hospital. Of course, your salary as a nanny also depends on your job. In public service, for example in city kindergartens, your salary is fixed. You will receive a so-called collective agreement. Depending on the federal state, you can expect a gross wage of between € 1400 and € 2000. Over the years you get regular increases in salaries.

If you are not in the public service, match your Wages at least the statutory minimum wages that have been applicable in Germany since January 2015. In the care sector, this means that you get an hourly wage of 8 euros in the eastern Budnes countries and 9 euros in the western ones. Not only is the wage not fixed, but also the time of the wage increases. The more you learn and the more responsibility you can take on over time, the more likely it is that you will be rewarded with an increase in salary.

Do you notice that job with the children is exactly the right thing for you, but you want to be promoted more, you should think about further training. Because as an educator or pedagogue you not only have more responsibility, you also get more money. So you win twice.
